On Four Paws

Rays of the evening sun cause their skin to lightly tingle. It's a nice feeling to have after what happened in the castle just an hour ago. Taro waggles his tail happily as he walks in front of the couple. An uncommon sound throws them off. Some sort of super fast chopping. Xehanort finds the source soon enough, knowing what it could be.

"This shop must be new. I haven't seen those in ages.", he turns to Viola. The sparkling of amazement in his eyes makes her smile grow. Looks like his childhood nostalgia was awakened.

After Taro tugs on his leash the couple decides to get closer, Viola finally getting a glimpse of what makes Xehanort so happy. It's a tiny shop with one man rapidly cutting up a few long rolls with a sharp-edged spatula. It's hard candy. Well, at a second glance, it's not really a man. It's more of... some sort of a disguise kind of fake-man.

Next to him, who packs a shovel of the candy into a small aluminum box and hands it to a customer while strangely shaking from side to side as if he's out of balance, is a brown furred cat rolling around a piece of colored sugar-mass. The gloves it's wearing seems to be too big for it. On a side note, it is interesting to be able to see the entire workplace.

"Melynx?", Viola whispers to herself as Xehanort leans closer asking her to elaborate. "Mel-what?"
"Melynx. They're not really popular because they usually steal your stuff if you're not careful. Never saw one actually working a job before.", she explains. "But... that's a good thing?", Xehanort asks her back, to which she nods. The couple approaches the store in order to buy some candy and the Melynx quickly lifts it's head up.

With huge green eyes, it looks at the two humans with a big laugh: "Oh! My hero!", pointing at Viola. "You're this girl with the su-purr-powers! Look! Look! It's really her!", it tucks on the apron of the man-disguise. The only reaction being mumbled hissing from his belly.

"I didn't know you're famous, Vi.", Xehanort tries not to laugh and she just seems really confused: "Well, not really a superpower... But glad to know I'm getting some recognition."
The cat jumps on the table and bends over the safety glass to shake Viola's hand: "Yes! You fixed this weird goldy-thing and when I found one I suddenly landed here!"

"And you opened a store?"
"Nya! Making Kintaro Ame is fun! It's so much better than stealing! Oh, my name is Mister Nyanka. And this is my busi-nyass partner, Ken."
They look at Ken for a bit, only now realising he's wearing a wooden mask portraying a human's face. Or at least that's what it's trying to be. There are just two holes cut into it as eyes. A crooked smile and a mustache is drawn on it with white paint. Paw-prints are visible on the sides too. The arms sticking out of the buttoned shirt are just movable constructs made with wooden sticks, which is really impressive. Orange furred paws are very slightly sticking out of the sleeves too, controlling the arms.

A grey paw reaches out of the belly between the row of buttons, trying to shake Viola's hand too, but Nyanka slaps back. More hissing and meowing is heard, before Nyanka finally takes Xehanort's order and fills a pack of pastel colored candy into a paper-box.

They wave goodbye and walk off.
"What a good boy! You didn't bark once.", Viola pets Taro and stands up again, almost bumping into Xehanort. His eyes sparkle again as soon as he reopens the box, inspecting the tiny sugar-circles. They look like watermelons, lemons and kiwifruits.
"Have you ever eaten these?", Xehanort asks with a way higher voice than usual, Viola only answering by shaking her head. He hands her the box and she chooses a little, pink watermelon.

The intense sweetness is quite a surprise. Sure, it's made out of pure sugar-mass, after all.
"It's so good!", she finally says with a chuckle and grabs another one.
"Now I know what I'll wish with the Lunar Tear, just an endless amount of this."
Xehanort's blush returns: "To be honest, I thought of letting Taro talk. But I like your idea too."
"How come?"
