Chirps echo through the town's alleyways, surrounding houses coloring them in dim shades. It has been a while. Braig takes a far longer look at the train station's entrance, up to the tower's clock. No one is sitting up there this time. Planning to focus on something else instead of starting a conversation, Davis walks past him without a word.

Olette is already waiting, greeting them with a very worried expression: "Finally! They're rampaging through the back alley!"
After a few shots and swings the Heartless are gone again. One smaller machine rushes forward at them, its arms swing back and forth like pendulums: "Destroy! Destroy!", it chants until one of Braig's shots pierces through its torso. Falling over with loud din.
"Not these things breaching into this Realm.", the man mutters.
"Not a good sign, they didn't fight us back before.", Davis looks at him. His lips slightly tremble before turning back to the group once his scissor-shaped blade disappears.

Hayner and Pence peek through their usual spot's fence: "Whoa, that could be a new record regarding time."
"R-really? That's nice.", Davis blushes. Unpromted Braig pushes Davis forward with his elbow, he catches himself. By all means, it wasn't a strong push. More of Braig pretending to clear his throat, Davis finally understands. He looks back and forth, Hayner and Olette step away a bit with hidden smiles.

"So, uh... Pence?", Davis begins, recieving Pence's full attention now. "There is this festival going on in Remnant... And I was wondering if you'd like to come along some time?"
With wider eyes, Pence tilts his head. The others remain just as quiet as he is.

"That's nice of you, but I'm not really keen to visit other worlds. Especially since, you know. Not that you suddenly become eligible for the Mark of Mastery or something.", Pence scratches the back of his head. Hayner pulls his friend away now: "Oh boy would you look at the time! Gotta help around town, right?"
"Thanks again!", Olette smiles awkwardly and the trio disappears, Hayner waving his arms around in an angry manner.

"Oopsie daisy. Could've been worse, though.", Braig speaks after a while. "So, you know what you're gonna do now?"
Davis sighs but Braig takes a large step forward to get in front of the boy and places his hands on the other's shoulder: "You leave him alone."
Chirping birds break their conversation.

"You should take your own advice.", Davis shakes the heavy hands away from his shoulders. "Huh?", Braig mutters. It's almost like an adult is standing in front of Braig as he tucks on his scarf, huffing again and harshly putting Davis in a headlock: "Don't forget you're the little one in the castle, Davs! Be careful with how you talk to me, got it?"
"I'm a year and a month older than Sora."
Finally free, Davis attempts to fix his hair while Braig wheezes: "Even with this pipsqueak girl from Beacon, you'll always be a kid to me!"
"Ruby? True, she's the youngest from all of us aside from Yonah- Hey! Don't change the subject!"

A distant clatter of train tracks later, he still remains quiet before something around his ear loosens up. "As if, now this?", Braig holds onto his eye patch's strings.
"Vimzy probably has some medical patches around. Let's head back."
"Vimzy? What's that about?"
Davis' chuckle gets a little louder: "As in Vi and whimsical. God, she hated both nickname and the word."
"How'd you mix up a V with a W?"
"I was four."
"My bad."
A corridor opens in front of them, Davis gulps: "Thanks, by the way. With Pence."
"Heads up, some day you'll get lucky."

Returning home, they expected a large event for a ritual. Instead, Lyria moves around a smoking bouquet of herbs. As they're quietly watching her work, they approach Viola and Yonah who also just stand and watch.
"For how long has this been going on?", Braig asks, to which Davis snickers before Viola answers: "About forty minutes."
"Oh, I thought way longer.", Day mutters and Lyria comes to a stand.

"I got a lot better at this, you know.", she turns around to face the group but certainly focused on Davis. No smoke emits from the herbs. The stench is still there however. Viola hands over a lighter, but Davis snatches it, instead lifting Steadfast Alignment which soon emits a small fire. Of course to Yonah's delight.
