Familiar Faces

He's never seen the castle's interior, so a thrilling feeling came over the old man. A feeling he knew from way back when. Its iconic white walls and blue triangle shaped roofs that pierced through the clear sky, amazed him the first time he saw them. And they still do. Surprisingly. It wasn't even strange he wasn't as interested in meeting Yen Sid and the little king again.

Soon, the group got inside, turned a few corners and entered the throne room through the small door, which irritated Xehanort. Why have a human-sized door in a giant one?

There they stand, a large table being way more of an eyecatcher than the mouse's throne. Their faces seem to be unexcited when they greet Xehanort. They always give him that look, which he can't and should not blame them for. Yet, they immediately switch back to happy as soon as they turn back to the others.

Davis does look rather unexcited as well, although the master cought him grinning as soon as Mickey spoke up. Ugh, Mickey. Squeaking chatterbox... he doesn't want to pay much attention to their discussions, since he's no longer their enemy, so it shouldn't be his concern nor his right to decide on what is yet to come. Admittedly, Xehanort is worried about how they might treat the newcomers. Yen Sid sure takes his time and runs his hand through his long beard. Meaning he is clueless.

Seeing his former friend puzzling as to why that girl stands before him. He grimly takes poor Viola under the loop, arguably making her uncomfortable. Yen Sid glances over to Xehanort and he feels how he begins to grow mad. Unlike him and Eraqus back then, rules were never a matter Xehanort cared for, if he was to know that Sora does not care either- It is a fact that is best to leave unmentioned.

As Mickey offers to show the group around his castle, Yen Sid sends them out of the throne room and grabs Xehanort's arm. Of course, he couldn't have known about the wounded shoulder. But his action is enough for Viola to turn around for a few seconds before walking outside. Supposedly she noticed the master's flinch, so he just signals her to let her know that he is alright. She's only trying to do her work, after all. He appreciates her for doing so despite it being the bare minimum. In her mind, that is.

"Why is a non-keyblade wielder here?", Yen Sid immediately questions.
"Why is it such a problem to you?"
He rolls his eyes as Xehanort begins to explain how something is off about Viola. It's clear Yen Sid has nothing against her brother, even believing he is grateful to meet another of the Keyblade's chosen. He simply stares at his former friend for a while, until his eyes wander towards the throne room's door and back to the other as his grip around Xehanort's arm loosens, so the man explains what occurred yesterday night.

"I see... these holes have been a problem for quite some time now.", Yen Sid states. He stays quiet for a while, until he sharply inhales: "Are you sure it was truly her power?"
Xehanort is perplexed: "What do you mean? Do you not think this ability was gifted to her?"

Not telling Yen Sid about the golden being. Not because Xehanort does not have to tell him, because he'd say he imagined it. Yen Sid always used to do this, pretending that he was in the wrong. Before Xehanort is able to speak up again Yen Sid interrupts by claiming nonsense, she'd need specific training or perhaps it was all just imagination. Maybe it is a lie.
"I'd have no problem with training-"
"Like someone would let you take in another pupil. Wasn't Ventus already enough for you? Send her home. She has no business here."

"Yen Sid, I know enough to tell you that it would be a horrible idea to separate the siblings. Please trust me when I say it would benefit young Davis."
Now he runs his hand down his beard again. Of course Xehanort understands his hesitation but he can't let the subject fall through like this. After all Viola is currently the only person who genuinely cares about the master. The only person who doesn't hate him to his core. Treats him with dignity. So why shouldn't he attempt his best to keep her around? It would be favourable for her and Davis as well.
