Not So New World

When Xehanort caught up with Sora, Viola and Hafet, they found themselves in a steppe. Viola looks upwards and instantly pulls the three under the shadow of a large rock. "Be careful."

A red dragon circles around in the sky. Perhaps looking for prey.
Xehanort exhales while staring at the creature above them. "We can easily take this beast."

"Whoa there! No killing, oldie!", Hafet objects. His ears seemingly spiking up: "We did not officially take a quest. No paperwork, no hunt."
Sora, Donald, Goofy and Xehanort cluelessly stare at the obviously more experienced.
"Seriously you guys, poaching is not the answer. You hear that, Vi?"
"Guild Knights galore.", she mumbles and Hafet starts to dramatically gasp.

"Well anyway, I'm getting a little help from my fleet.", he takes out a map and marks one spot with a big circle and hands it to Sora. "Davis should be there. In case the Rathalos attacks you, just run. I'll handle the rest."
"Wait! Rath- Fleet? What?" Sora is genuinely surprised.
"Yeah, I'm on a high rank. I have an allowance."

That creature in the sky does not look like a Heartless. A strange weight makes it difficult for Sora to breathe. "What if something else is out here?"

"Pfft! Come on, you still got Vi.", Hafet waves and gets going.
"What, no! Haf! I'm not ready to-", she stops herself from pleading once Hafet quickens his pace, giggling. Donald angrily sprinting after him, fist shaking and Goofy excuses himself to follow the duck.

After a silent sigh Viola turns to the remaining: "I can distract Rathalos from you but anything else would be off limits. For now.", she assures them safety, however with an undertone of nervousness.
Sora scratches the back of his head: "Oh come on, where's the positivity?"

"Let me just pack a few things and we're ready to go.", she now walks towards a huge rock formation, under which there is a camp and returns with a mediocre looking sword and shield. To make matters worse, the sun is setting.

"Hey, Vi? Why was Davis so weird?"
"I'm not sure, Sora. Maybe I shouldn't have made him uncomfortable."
"I don't like that you blame yourself, Vi. I can tell you two haven't seen each other in a while."

In dead silence, they keep on walking until a rattling sound disturbs the calm.
"More on this later. We have a visitor.", Viola warns. Master Xehanort is first to draw his weapon. Not commenting on anything.

Down a cliffwall crawls a giant spider with fangs and purple colored spikes on it's back, screeching very loudly, a knocked over tree is simply kicked away by one of it's legs and firstly shoots a codweb at the trio.

Luckily, Master reacts fast enough to counter with a firaga spell, the web burns up mid-air. He could still feel the satisfying heat of his magic attack after Viola sprints towards a ledge on the ground, jumps off to hit its upper legs, while Sora is unsure where to attack. He's staring at this grotesque being. But it's a normal animal in this world.

"What are you doing, boy?" Xehanort snaps at Sora. He still stands there, wide eyed.
"Sora! Attack Nercylla's legs! So it falls over!" Viola shouts. As he recovers out of his trance, Sora finally charges towards the giant spider to attack its legs as well, ignoring his unsure feeling of fighting a creature without an emblem.

The being screeches again, turns towards Sora and tackles to his direction. This time, instead of finishing its move, it shoots another web at Xehanort, a move none of them saw coming. Knowing that the old man is unable to move properly, it turns to him and rushes forward in full speed. A horrifying sight of its fangs coming way too close for comfort, is one of the last moments the master needed to experience in his life time. But the pain after...

Pain that starts to rush into his body like lightning getting worse, second by second. He falls over while doing whatever he thinks might make the pain bearable, Viola blocks off another attack of the monster and counters, while Sora shoots one last icicle to freeze two legs, she immediately runs over to the wounded, cramming inside her hip cloth. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry!"
