Family Shattered Part 3, Chapter 15
At Skye and Lorenzo's place — Skye and Lorenzo were having brunch with Lila Rae, Adam, and Alana.
"Where is Dex?" Lila Rae asked.
"He's taking care of business for me," Lorenzo replied.
"Alana, how was the reading of the will?"
"Sad. Alistair left his company to an unborn child."
"Wow."
"Yes, it's sad. At Alistair's family house, all that's left is Alison — she sent her mother away."
"Oh, why?" Lila Rae asked.
"Because she's a nightmare—mother, daddy—that got me thinking about our family.
We don't know your extended family. I don't even know the names of your parents. Daddy and mother. I know you weren't raised by grandmother or Alan."
"Alana, my childhood is very painful. I want to protect you both from it."
"Same here. You don't need to know any of it."
"Daddy, you have family here, and you don't talk to her."
"She sent me to jail!"
"No, you did," Alana said.
"Enough! Now eat your breakfast," Lorenzo said, upset.

"Lila Rae, have you decided where you want the wedding?" Skye asked.
"Not yet."
"We have a lot to do. Adam, are you going to invite your mother?"
"I'm not sure."
"I heard Brooklyn's mother, Lois, is in town and met your father last night," Skye said.
"Yes, she did," Adam replied.
"We should go, Lila Rae. We have a meeting," Skye said.
"Yes, we do."
"Alana, do you need to go to Glamorous?"
"Yes," Alana replied.

Lorenzo got up and went into his den, following Skye.
"Lorenzo, Alana just wants to learn about her family, that's all."
"Yes, I know. And I know this day will come. I will tell them about my mother."
"Is she still alive?" Skye asked.
"Yes, Juanita is alive."
"You never told me that," Skye said.
"I had to keep my mother safe from this lifestyle," Lorenzo answered.

Alana and Lila Rae were talking.
"Why did you have to bring that up?" Alana asked.
"Aren't you curious about both our families?"
"Yes, but now isn't the time," Lila Rae replied.
