She lay curled in her bed listening to the world go by, it had already been six days since the encounter at Derek's house. She had been working so hard non-stop today she had finally taken a day for herself.  She had seen Derek once and that was four days ago when Coco came in for her check up. She couldn't look at him without feeling ashamed of herself.

The headache that had been there for a week still hadn't passed , her eyes were sensitive the the light leaving her home in complete utter darkness.

He'd messaged her multiple times which she had ignored , she thought her message had been clear enough.

She had looked at them all with a scrunched face, she was too tired to fight, to argue , to have to listen to him would use every ounce of energy she had left remaining. She dragged herself from the warmth of her covers to ger dressed, she wasn't working but she wanted to see the tiny tri coloured puppy, the one she had bonded with so closely since he arrived.

She dressed simply in straight leg joggers and a grey ribbed square neck body suit. Her hair was doing its own thing and her makeup was subtle as always. She found the drive simple, it was the route she took each day. She smiled internally thinking of the excited puppy that would greet her with licks and jumps. 

"Mer what are you doing here its your day off today"April frowned. Meredith smiled softly.

"I wanted to see the pup"She shrugged and walked straight into the kennels. Of course he sat with his piercing blue eyes looking up at her and his tail wagging. "Hello handsome"She greeted as she opened his kennel door. He instantly jumped at her legs and barked happily at her. He had come so far in the week she'd had them. Everyone was no mite, flea, tick and worm free, they were gaining weight, their behaviours were coming along. But it was this little boy that she was drawn to.

She sat with her back against the cold wall, the puppy sat in her lap chewing his toy, her hands ran through his soft fur as she enjoyed the quiet.

"I think you should take him home with you Mer, the bond is incredible"Cristina commented as she looked through the glass. Meredith giggled.

"I am thinking about it, My garden is the perfect size. He could come to work with me and play on the field or sleep in my office, Cris I am in love with him"She looked down with awe on the dog. She never thought she would get another animal after the dog she grew up with passed away but now as the young pup settled on her everything she thought changed. 

So she sat phone in hand looking at dog items, of course she ordered more than what she needed and she was also going in store to shop more.  She thought of names, waiting for one to pop out at her. Her phone buzzed in her hand as the name she had given him flashed with a message bellow it.

He felt an immense anger toward himself , Carolyn told him how it was his fault and he should have acted like a man, not the response he had hoped for but it was what he deserved.

He had punched many of the walls within his home, thrown glasses and wallowed in guilt.

He had never wanted anything more than a one night stand , he hadn't kissed a women in over 5 years it was a rule he'd made to prevent any form of intimacy in his brief sexual encounters. He hadn't allowed a woman to suck his dick in the same amount of time , even touching it was nearly breaking his boundaries. He followed a simple routine when it came to women , scout out the club, choose who he wanted , grab her hand tell her he wants to fuck , take her to the back streets or closest hotel , face her away from him have sex and leave. Most women in the clubs he went to lacked class and self respect which is why it was so easy.
