Yunlan was lying quietly in bed with Gelan sitting at his side, not her usual self. She had become attached to Yunlan and enjoyed his cheerful character and had seen him at his worst and his best and she was not dealing well with what she knew. Unaware of Shen Wei's arrival, she had dropped her mental block allowing him to read her mind as she silently cried in a half dreamlike state, not wishing to feel like this. Wei moved over beside her, placing his hand on her shoulder and she rested hers on top, not even rising from the seat.
"Take a break Gelan," he suggested softly, and she obediently rose from her seat to pass Wei, but he stopped her and turned her around to cuddle her, for as long as she needed, until he felt her relax and he released her to return to her office, as he took her place and sat beside Yunlan.
It felt like a complete role reversal for Wei as he sat holding Yunlan's hand, waiting for him to wake up and talk, it didn't matter what the subject was, he just wanted to hear his voice. He understood from Gelan's thoughts what was wrong but he didn't have the knowledge or the experience of how to fix this problem, so he just sat and spoke to Yunlan telepathically, hoping that he would hear his voice and come back to him.
Lin Jing appeared later on after all his paperwork was finished and was shocked to see how the situation had deteriorated.
"Is there anything you can do?" Lin Jing asked but Wei just shook his head slowly.
"What about the guards, they're gifted, could one of them help?" and the answer was still the same, no.
"What about the Entity, he's older and wiser and in his long existence he must have seensomething." Jing asked but this time Shen Wei hesitated as if thinking it through.
"I'm not sure, I have others to ask, would you sit with Yunlan, call me if you need anything, I'llhear you." and he was gone in an instant leaving Lin Jing on his own beside the bed.
Shen Wei had gone back to the vault avoiding normal transport, he teleported and shouted to Kunlun to talk.
"We need to talk, come down please and show yourself."
"You're being polite, what's wrong?"
"We need to save Yunlan? I know that I can't, I have limited experience and the Entity knows a lot more than I do, so I'm asking for a table conference, would it be possible?"
"Maybe,.. this place is safe, here would need to do, but there would be six of us." Chief Kunlunanswered him.
"Why six, who are the rest?" Shen Wei asked.
"Me." Lin Jing said as he entered walking forward to meet Kunlun.
"Me" Gelan said and she joined the group, nodding to Shen Wei who smiled weakly at her while Kunlun materialised a good round table for their needs. He had already considered the conference and teleported the important people involved in Yunlan's life.
