Catt's POV

I stood in the huge kitchen of Becca Green's house, a place I never thought I would be in, in my 16 years of existence, or any time after that for that matter. I chuckled quietly to myself but covered it up with a cough.

The past 30 minutes have been the strangest. Becca not only apologized for talking about me, but she also explained to me why Asher was now under her care and then asked me to help her with him.

That part made me question everything. I mean, she doesn't even know me. I could be some crazy psychopath and she's letting me take care of her little brother. It made my head hurt, thinking about that crazy amount of trust. I took a small bite of the French toast that she made. It was actually really good.

It made me wonder why her mother wasn't around. I mean, she explained that she went on these crazy sprees and didn't come back for a while but I didn't understand how she could just leave her 17 year old daughter and her two month old son to fend for themselves. It was horrible. What made it really sad was that all Becca really wanted was her mother's approval for anything. She wanted a sign that she could do something right in her mother's eyes.

I glanced up at her, the silence was heavy in the air but neither of us were brave enough to break it. Her pale eyes that were normally a beautiful seafoam green, were now a light grey. They were still very pretty but it hurt my heart to not see her usual happy self.

I could tell she was thinking about her mother. She had a look of desperation on her pretty face that just longed for someone to understand her pain. I couldn't take seeing her so upset so I wanted to change the subject for her sake. I averted my attention to her clothes.

She always had the expensive things. The sweater she was wearing was a pastel pink colour. It hung loosely off her right shoulder and down her thin torso. It stopped just above her butt and her black skinny jeans took over from there. They traced the outline of her tiny legs and scrunched up at the bottom where her pink and white striped vans covered her feet.

Every ounce of skin on her except her face and hands were always covered. If she wore a short sleeved shirt, she always had some kind of bracelets covering her arms. Sometimes they would be band bracelets but mostly the softer bands like Paramore or One Direction and such.

I wondered why. She wasn't necessarily pale. She has skin that was white but it had a pretty golden glow to it. I glanced up at her again and when her eyes met mine, she quickly looked away. Just when I thought the silence was becoming too much for me, she opened her mouth, much to my dismay.

"Th-thanks again f-for hel-helping m-me. I-I d-didnt th-think y-you would af-after ye-yesterday." She seemed relieved after she got her few sentences out. I mean, I was too. I wasn't sure I could have broken the intense silence and sounded somewhat intelligent at the same time.

"It's fine. But can I ask you one question?" She nodded. "Why do you always wear long sleeves and bracelets?" I immediately regretted asking as soon as it came out of my mouth.

Her face changed but she took a deep breath, I could tell she was going to try and keep her stutter under control. She didn't have any bracelets on today because of her long sleeves so she timidly pulled her sleeve up and held her wrists to her chest.

"You are one of the only people in existence to know about this." I felt so bad. I walked over and pulled her sleeve back down, looking her in the eyes.

"You don't have to tell me, it's okay. I mean we just started taking, and I can't believe how much you already trust me. You can wait until we get closer if you decide that's what you want. I'm not going to push you into it." I really just wanted to get my point across. I really did like her and I didn't want to scare her away because she didn't know about my... Sexuality. Therefore I just wanted her to trust me before she did something that she might regret.

She took a deep breath and nodded.
"Some other time." I have her a small smile and nodded. Without thinking, I twirled a piece of her hair in between my fingers like I had done with past girlfriends. When I realized what I was doing, I felt my face get red and back away.

I pulled out my phone and checked the time. It felt like I had been there hours but it was only 10am. I missed first and second period and school would let out at 2pm.

"Do you have Clash of Clans?" I asked her, scrolling through the apps on my out-dated phone. She smiled and nodded, pulling her phone or of her back pocket.

"Yeah, you should join my clan. It's already connected to my Wi-Fi, just hit scan." I did as she told me and one clan popped up.

PTV 4 LYFE

My jaw almost dropped.

"You like Pierce The Veil??" She nodded timidly and a newfound fondness took over me and I walked over to her and pulled her into my arms, a chuckle escaping my lips. She laughed loudly and hugged me back.

We spent the rest of the day defeating foreign Clans and jamming out Vic Fuentes.
