Becca's POV
The second I stepped into French, I darted away from Catt as fast as possible and placed a disgusted look on my face. I went to the back of the class and sat in the very back alone, as weird as it sounds. One of the cheerleaders, one of which is actually descent, walked over to me and sneered, "Why did you walk in with her?" I scoffed. "I don't know. The emo walked in behind me. Does she even know who the fuck I am?"
I felt a pang in my chest when I began talking shit about Catt. For some God forsaken reason, I felt this odd attachment to her, even for only knowing the girl for about 5 minutes. When I looked up, Catt was looking at me with sad, tear filled eyes and a scowl etched into her features. When we made eye contact, she simply shook her head and turned away.
"Guess the bitch heard us. As least she knows the truth." I looked down and shrugged. "Y-yeah." I mentally smacked myself for stuttering. So far, all throughout high school, I've hidden my stutter from every human in this school and the only ones that know are Zee and my other best friend, Michael.
The bell finally rang after what seemed like an eternity and I ran out of the room faster than normal to find Michael. I found him talking to his bitch of a girlfriend, Ashley, and held back until I thought it was okay to interrupt them. I tapped his shoulder and he turned around and grinned, missing Ashley when she rolled her eyes. "Hey, Becca. What's wrong?" "I need to talk to you alone." Michael nodded and kissed Assley before going with me to English.
"Zee told me what happened this morning." I looked down, suddedly remembering Asher at home. "Th-that's n-not what I-I was going t-to tell y-you," I choke out. Part of it from my stutter, the other from nearly breaking down. Mike looked down at me and cocked his head to the side. "What do you mean then? And I'm confused, you only ever stutter when you're at my place or your own. I've never heard you stutter in school."
I pulled the clueless 6'0 child a side and started talking, trying to control my stutter enough to get through to him. "Y-you know th-the new girl, C-Catt? Sh-she wears a-all black a-and s-sits in th-the back o-of h-her classes?" A nod. "Okay, I-I r-ran i-into her in th-the ha-hallway o-on the w-way t-to French a-and sh-she's r-really nice and sw-sweet, b-but the se-second we walked in th-the door, I-I tu-turned in-into a bi-bitch for n-no reason! A-and n-now sh-she ha-hates me," I somewhat clearly explained without breaking down with frustration.
"What the hell, Becca?! If it's to uphold your fucking popularity, that's bullshit because I'm nowhere near you or even Ashley on the popularity scale, so why would you do that?!" His sudden tone scared the living shit out of me, causing me to start shaking like mad. Noticing my panicked expression, Michael wrapped me in a hug and began to calm me down. "I-I'm s-such a-an ass Mi-Mikey! I have a two month old to take care of and-"
After realizing how loud I said that, I looked around to see if anyone was in hearing range. And sure enough, Catt was standing right there with wide eyes and an almost horrified look on her face.---
Hey y'all it's Bear again! Sorry if this story is confusing at all (mainly in my POV cause I never really clarify anything very well). Any way, incase you're wondering about her stutter that came out of nowhere, that is based on something that is a real event in my life, meaning I have a very bad stutter that I cover up. It's easy to do some days, but others it's hard as hell and I stutter and trip over my words more than normal on those days. The reason I hide my stutter is because when I don't, I get very, very frustrated with myself because why the hell can't I fucking say "anyway" and my frustration normally leads to mental breakdowns and that leads to anxiety or panic attacks.
So, sorry if this is too long, but I needed to add that in there.I love y'all so much, and if y'all ever need anything, I'll most likely be there at some point. I promise.
