Becca's POV
I was still mentally panicking after Catt asked me about my constantly covered arms. Even when playing Clash of Clans, I was still on edge. That is, until Asher began crying upstairs. I put my phone down and ran up to his room to check on the crying baby. I heard a separate set of footsteps following me and knew it was Catt.
Once in his room, my eyes were met with the tiny baby scrunching his eyes up and fisting his jungle blanket in his itty bitty fists. I quickly rushed over and picked Asher up, rocking him to calm him down. Suddenly, a strong, bitter smell hit me and I then knew why he was crying. "Shh, hey b-baby, it's okay. I've g-got you, s-sissy's got you. C-Calm d-down, shh," I whispered to the now whimpering infant.
I turned to Catt and jerked my head toward the stairs. "C-Can you f-fix h-him a b-bottle? Th-The formula is un-under th-the sink. D-Directions a-are o-on the b-back." She simply nodded and walked out of the room while I went to change my brother. I bean humming my mom's favourite song to Asher, trying to calm him.
And as the sun went down
We ended up on the ground
I heard the train shake the windows
You screamed over the sound
And as we own this night
I'll put your body to the test with mine
This love was out of control

Where did it go.Just as I had finished, Catt came in again, holding Asher's bottle. "There's someone at the door you'll wanna talk to. I can feed him." I just nodded shakingly, passing the baby to her gently before going to the door.
When I got downstairs, I noticed two men in the living room with sunglasses and police uniforms on. Before speaking, I made sure to hide my stutter. "Can I help you, gentlemen?" They both turned their attention toward me, blank faces and all.
"Are you Becca Green," one of the men asked. I nodded and urged them to continue. "We need to address you about your mother, Delilah Rogers. This morning, we began the search for her after you reported her missing." I began to get nervous, pulling my sleeves down to my knuckles.
One of the men stood up and motioned to the loveseat. "This is your house, sit down. You'll need to for this. Is there anyone else here with you?" "Y-Yes. M-My friend C-Catt a-and two m-month old b-brother, Asher." The larger of the two sighed and took his glasses off.
"Ms. Green, I hate to tell you this, but we found your mother on the side of the road this morning." That one, simple sentence caused my world to crash down all around me. "D-Do you kn-know what h-happened?" The same man nodded, sighing once again. "She had about four or five substances in he body all at once. From acid to cocaine. I'm so sorry, Becca. Who do you plan on staying with?"
I just shook my head, getting back up. "I-I won't b-be go-going any where. I'm gon-gonna st-stay here a-and ra-raise m-my brother." Both men nodded before getting up and walking out the door. When the door shut, I broke down, sobbing while sliding down the wall.
"C-Catt! P-Please, I-I need y-you d-down h-here," I called out, sobbing harder and harder by the second. Footsteps were heard once again as Catt came running down the stairs, Asher in her arms. "What's wrong? What happened," she asked frantically. "M-My m-mom. Sh-She's g-gone, C-Catt!" She went over to to put Asher in his baby pin before rushing over to me, cradling me in his arms.
"What do you mean? How is she gone, Becca?" I viciously wiped my eyes and took a deep intake of breath, looking up at the picture of all of us, my mom, my dad, and me when I was about 6.
"Sh-She's g-gone, C-Catt. Sh-She f-fucking d-died."

Hiya!! Um, so I don't have tons to say right now. I'm up in DC atm and I'll be on the plane to go back home tomorrow, luckily on Kitty's update day and not mine. That being said, I'm having tons of writers block and being in New England doesn't help. So yeah, my chapters should be longer by next week after Kitty updates. I'm kinda running off her right now so yeah. ...turns out I did have stuff to say. Love y'all and see you next week on Monday!!
