Jungkook stepped forward and sat on the visitor's chair closest to the door, the one he always occupied. And started.

- Our classmates don't know what we're doing here if that worries you. -

- Why would it worry me? - Jack snapped back.

It wasn't a question. Jungkook struggled for a moment with what to say next.

- I tried to tell them not to treat you so badly. -

- That and nothing was the same. -

Jungkook's determination slipped a bit and his eyebrows twitched.

He tried again.

- I never wanted to tell them it was you who did it, I wanted to help you. -

- But none of that happened in the end so, who cares? -

He frowned. It was proving to be impossible to talk to him. Now he could understand why Henry had such a tough time with him.

Then, Jungkook had an idea. If being gentle didn't work, then he'd have to change tactics.

- Did you want to hurt me? -

Yes. - Jack admitted with emphasis, easily implying how he wanted to do it again.

Jungkook didn't flinch.

- Did you want to kill me? -

- Do you want to be dead? - He offered.

- Do you want to go to jail? - Jungkook snapped back.

- What kind of flowers do you want for your funeral? - Jack almost grinned, dangerously.

Jungkook shook his head.

- What have I done to you? - His frown deepened as Jack's grin disappeared. - Tell me why you're so mean to me, tell me why I deserve it. -

Jack took a while before answering. But then, when he did, he scoffed.

- You're easy to bully. -

Jungkook shook his head. Not because of what Jack said, but because he'd obviously forced himself to say it.

He didn't want to be mean to someone he wanted to help. But he had to break down his walls first.

- I think you're jealous of me. -

Jack's head twitched to the side.

- And here I thought you were a humble little bitch. - He almost grinned. - I'm just here so you could rub it on my face, aren't I? All that crap about our classmates not knowing–

- I think you have selective hearing. - He interrupted him. - I clearly said I wanted to help you. -

- Help me how, you "son of Christ''? - Jack asked with mocked mirth. - Want me to see the error of my ways? Want me to change? To be better? To become as high-minded as you? To be a part of your gang of bitches? -

- To become the child you were robbed of being. - Jungkook answered with certainty.

Jack froze for a moment. And then burst with laughter.

- You do think yourself a god, don't you? - He grabbed the edge of the desk and pushed the chair closer so he could lean on his elbows. - Let me get you in on a little secret, pal. You're not all that. - He chuckled humorlessly. - You're not even a child yourself. You're nothing but a file cabinet filled with useless information and you're being gladly used by all these fucking grownups. That's why you gave them my name. You're not intelligent, you're as stupid as the next child who thinks they're special just because an adult said so. You're so stupid you don't even realize you've been keeping all of our classmates at school later every day so all the parents can have more free time. You want me to have a childhood? Then stay the fuck away from me, teacher's pet. -
