Lily's POV

"You don't need to lie me,I have experienced first handedly what a monster my son can be...."

Isabella's words shocked me. I knew she was Xavier's mother, but I thought she would at least try to defend her son.

I thought she would deny him being a monster.

Isabella chuckled at saying my disgruntled facial expression. "Don't look so surprised, Lily. I know what my son is, so what is the point of pretending he is something he isn't?"she asked,almost to herself.

Amanda had stayed silent this whole time,her eyes fixated on me as if she was noting everything I was doing.

"Lily,what I am trying to say is that I know what my son is capable of. I have seen what he can do, and to be perfectly honest with you,I may be his mother,but even I am a little wary of Xavier,"she admitted.

"Xavier's not that bad. I know he can change."I said confidently even though I was unsure of my words.

I was still confused at Xavier's actions. He used to distance himself from me and kept hurting my feelings, but as soon as I left his pack,he came after me.

He seemed like something had changed in him because he wasn't as cut off as was before from me.

We had even kissed,which I was still shocked about.

"I have faith that he can,but he needs you to help him, Lily."Isabella said.

"I don't know if I can help him. He's distant a d he seems like something is holding him back from fully embracing the mate bond,"I admitted.

Xavier's mum was making me feel like I could open up to her. I was slightly wary of her, though, because she wasn't what I expected.

She definitely didn't fit the idea in my head of who had raised Xavier.

"Xavier hasn't had easy. It doesn't excuse his behavior and I know what he has done,but as his mother,I am forced to look past what he has done and remember he is still my son,"she said.

"What I am trying to say is that Xavier has suffered a lot. I am sure you have heard about him losing his first mate?"she asked, and I nodded.

"He fought heavily to get past the pain of losing his mate. You're his second mate, Lily, and that may not mean a lot to you, but for  Xavier,that means he has the chance to change." She said.

She walked up to me and hugged me tightly. "I know you can help him,and if you ever need any help or support, just talk to me,"she said, making my I insides warm at her words.

I felt what it was like to have a family again. The feeling of being excepted,loved and connected to the people you love and, in turn, love you back.

I relished in it. I hadn't felt this in a long time, and I was going to enjoy the every second of being part of a family again.

A sudden knock at the door made me and Isabella turn around to face a young lad. "Luna, it's the alpha. He uh h-he."The man started but cut himself off.

He seemed scared, and I wondered what was bothering him.

"Spit it out!"Isabella shouted

"The alpha has turned into a disperser again..."
