'I hate getting flashbacks from things I don't want to remember '

Lily's Pov

I sat in my mate's bedroom, my thoughts distracting me. I had given the note to Xavier, and he had told me not to worry, but I couldn't help but be concerned.

I was also angry at him. He had told me about another note he had received from the first attack, but he hadn't thought to tell me sooner.

I thought we had agreed to tell each other things and to be open, but he was just keeping secrets from me, and I didn't like it.

Whether he liked it or not,I was angry at him for not telling in the first place a put what was going on. I had every right to know about what the attacker's intentions were,but of course, Xavier didn't agree.

I hadn't seen my father in a couple of days now,but I knew he was staying at the pack house at the moment because there was supposed to be an upcoming storm and it would be to dangerous for him to travel alone back to his pack.

"Lily!"Elisa shouted out, and I looked up at her to see her at the doorway with Amanda beside her.

"You shouldn't be sulking about your mate,I'm angry too at Thomas because he didn't tell me what was going on."she huffed as she walked over to me and pulled me up from the bed.

"We need to focus on something else, a birthday or maybe -"Elisa's words were drowned out by a realization dawning on me.

Today was April 21st.

Today was my birthday.

I had completely forgotten. To be honest,I used to hate my birthdays in my old pack. After my grandmother's death,I was banned from celebrating any big events.

That included my birthday, too.

Flashback

3 years ago

I woke up,a smile on my face as I ran downstairs to the kitchen. Today was my birthday, and my pack might not particularly like me at the moment, but surely they wouldn't forget my birthday.

I walked to the kitchen where there was a big commotion. I expected there to be decorations and banners saying happy birthday, but I what I was met with surprised me.

Not in a good way,either.

There was nothing in the kitchen or the pack house for that matter. No decorations, no banners, no balloons.

There was nothing.

I saw Katy with her back to me. She was with her two new friends, Lucy and Vanessa. She may have turned her back on me,but surely she would still remember my birthday, right?

"Happy birthday, Lily!"Katy squealed as she turned towards me,a smirk on her face as well as on Vanessa's and Lucy's face.

She suddenly revealed a cake from behind her back. I smiled at her. She had remembered my birthday, maybe she did believe that I hadn't killed my grandmother after all.

Then they began to sing Happy Birthday.

When they got to the last line, though, Katy threw the cake at me. The cake hot me in face,the impact making me fall to the ground in a heap.

"You look like you could do with some icing with that cake,"Vanessa giggled before the three of them took out a tube of icing each and started to squirt it all over me.

I didn't understand.

I hadn't done anything wrong. This was supposed to be a happy accation. I thought the pack would have forgotten what had happened, and things would go back to wrong.

They hadn't remembered, though,or maybe they simply didn't care.

Even my father didn't care.

I don't know why Katy would do this,though.

"W-why are you doing this?"I asked my voice low as tears started to well up in my eyes.

"You're a murderer. People like you don't deserve to celebrate their birthday. Nobody cares about you. You're lucky we remembered,though. Look at the surprise we got you,you should be grateful!"Katy explained, her voice bitter as she looked at me with disgust.

There were suddenly footsteps as my father suddenly entered the room. He looked at the sight in front of him.

I thought he would comfort me,or at least tell Katy off, but he completely shocked me with what he did next.

He laughed at me.

"I've got to say,that is a sight to behold,"he laughed as Katy,Lucy, and Vanessa joined in.

"You girl's can go,and you,Lily,clean u0 this mess,"he ordered as they walked out and left me on the floor,covered in cake and tears streaming down my face.

That was the last time I celebrated my birthday...
