Lily's Pov

Isabella's expression drastically changed. She shared a brief look with Amanda before turning back to the pack member.

"Where was Xavier last seen?"Isabella questioned,a foreign look in her eyes.

"He was in the office with Alpha Adam. I saw him run out of the room, and Carlos had reported seeing him near the border,"the young boy replied.

"Darral, I need you to put the pack house on lockdown. Don't tell anyone what has happened,I don't want the pack to be panicked."The young boy nodded before running off.

"What's going on,Isabella?"I asked them. My heart was beating fast, and my wolf was worried about Xavier.

"Lily, my son needs you. You and Amanda go to the border,try to find Xavier, and calm him down."Isabella rushed before taking off.

Amanda grabbed my arm before we took off out of the pack house and towards the border of the territory.

"Amanda, what is going on?"I asked,getting even more worried about my mate now more than ever.

"Xavier needs you. This has happened before in the past. My father was stupid and must have pushed him too far again. Lily,the last time this happened, my brother went on a killing spree. You're the only thing that will calm him down."Amanda explained.

Now, knowing the situation, I pushed my legs to go faster. The only thing that was on my mind was that Xavier needed me.

We finally reached the border,but the sight that greeted us wasn't pretty. There were bodies.

A lot of blood,decaying bodies.

They were littered all over the place, and I saw that there was a trail of them leading over the border. I knew that there were other packs that surrounded the area, and I had to get to them before Xavier did.

I didn't wait for Amanda before I ran over the border and started to follow the trail of blood bodies.

I tried not to let my eyes look at the dead bodies around me. I knew the reputation that my mate was known for,I was aware that he could rip numerous wolves to shreads in a matter of seconds.

I just hoped Xavier hadn't reached the other packs yet.

I finally came to a stop when I saw a large number of dead bodies scattered all over the ground.

I was too late.

I started to run even faster,my legs pumping me forward at top speed towards my mate.

I suddenly came to a stop.

My hands came up to cover my mouth to stop the shocked gasp escaping from my mouth. My mate stood in the middle of the pack grounds of the Scarlet pack.

Xavier had shifted into his wolf, but he looked different.

He was bigger than he was before, his muscles in his hind legs bulging and thick. But what startled me the most was the look in my mate's eyes.

They were beastly.

His eyes were a bright scarlet red,brighter than I had ever seen before. His wolf stood towering over the bodies scattered around him.

There was suddenly a loud scream.

I saw a young girl standing above the bodies of her now dead parents. Her scream had caught the attention of Xavier, though.

I watched my mate as he stared at her for a few seconds before I saw his teeth start to extend.

He ran towards the girl,his paws pounding heavily on the ground.

Before I knew what I was doing, I darted in front of the girl. I took the blow as the force of Xavier's sharp dagger like claws dug into my side, and I was knocked to the ground.

Before the darkness clouded my vision, though,I saw the regret in my mate's eyes.
