The party was in full swing. Everyone was dancing and having fun. I was currently sitting at one of the many tables that had lots of party food on top of it
I yawned again as I sipped on my drink. It 11:30 and everyone was still partying and was wide awake.
Me,on the other hand, was exhausted. I looked down at the carefully wrapped present in my hands.
To say I was shocked that Clarissa had given me a present was an understatement.
Finally sighing, I unwrapped the present, and my eyes widened at what lay underneath the wrapping paper.
It was a locket with the words my precious carved into it. I then looked at the note beside it and opened it up.
To my Luna,
Happy birthday. I apologise for my previous behaviour and have accepted that you truly are the alpha's rightful mate.
The locket is from a friend of my mine who has his eyes set on you. He asked me to give it to you for your birthday.

I looked down at the locket, running my fingers over the smooth, cool metal before carefully making sure no one had seen what I was doing.
I knew if Xavier found out about this, he would get angry. I looked down at the note in my hand, reading over the scribbled writing carefully.
Who was this 'friend' of Clarissa's that had his eyes set on me?
What did this mean?
I decided not to yell Xavier about this. It was probably nothing, just a small attraction that this 'friend' of Clarissa has for me. It wouldn't last for long, though.
I hope.
A wave of tiredness overcame me as I hid the note and locket in the back pocket of my jeans. Looking around,I spotted my mate walking over to me.
His eyes softened as he neared me,his aura as strong and intimidating as ever. Xavier looked at me with adoration as he took in my tired appearance.
"Are you okay,flower?"he asked,his fingers lifting my chin up so I could make eye contact with him.
"Just tired,"I responded, and Xavier dipped down to kiss me on my forehead.
"Why don't you go upstairs to our bedroom? I'll be u0 in a minute, I just need to have a word with Thomas,"he suggested, and I nodded before beginning to walk up the stairs.
"Happy birthday, Luna!"Pack mates greeted me as I passed them, and I smiled warmly at them.
As I passed one of the many corridors of the pack house,I was suddenly grabbed and yanked into a nearby room.
I turned around to see a tall figure wearing dark coloured clothes. I took a step back as the figure backed me up against the wall.
I was about to scream when the figure clasped their hand around my mouth, preventing me from making a sound.
"Now,now. There is no need to scream,little Luna. I wouldn't dream of harming you. I'm just here to deliver a message,"the figure chuckled,their hand still around my mouth.
Sweat dripped down my forehead as I started to panic. Raising my leg upwards,I kicked the man in his balls.
He collapsed onto the floor,releasing me in the process. I rushed towards the door,trying to open the door only to find that it was locked.
"Xavier,help me!Xavier!"I started to pund on the door,urging my mate to hear my cries for help.
I was suddenly grabbed by my ankles. The nan dragged me towards him. In the dum light of the room,I saw h8s can8nes flash at me.
"You'll pay for that. You little -"he was cut off by pounding on the door.
"Lily!"Xavier cried out. I was pinned to the floor by the stranger,his canines out, and I knew he was about to bite my neck when the door was suddenly broken down.
My mate stormed into the room,his eyes bright red, and I knew his wolf was in control. "Mate!"Xavier's wolf grunted before he took in the scene before him.
He lunged forward and pinned my attacker to the floor before punching the stranger in his face.
"How dare you touch my mate!"he growled and started to mercilessly bea4 him up.
I let out a grunt of pain when I noticed a trail of blood on my leg. Xavier noticed and cane over to me.
I don't know how, but the attacker somehow managed to find the strength to get up and walk over to the nearby window.
The stranger smashed the window,the glass shattering,and falling onto the ground. The attacker smirked at me, and Xavier.
"Enjoy what little time you have lef5 together. He's coming for you,Lily, and there's nothing your mate can do to stop it,"he said.
If Xavier and I couldn't be any more speechless,the stranger then jumped out of the window.
And then,he was gone...
