Lily's POV

My breathing is ragged. A new dread is setting in as I feel people's eyes on me again.

If I wasn't being judged at breakfast,I was  certainly  being judged now. The pack knows that the alpha doesn't want me, but everyone knows you can't resist the mate bond.

They obviously are going to judge me at how well I train and fight. I'm not good at either.

At my old pack,I was only allowed to train when I was known and had the rank of the alpha's daughter.

After my grandmother's death, though,I was never allowed to train or fight again. It has been nearly four years since I had last trained.

All of my previous training as the alpha's daughter has been forgotten. That's why I am nervous right now.

Elisa leads me to a soft mat that has an odd looking machine on. It's made out of metal and has an odd red button and a scale going up to the top.

All of the pack  gather around us, curious about what I am going to do. "This machine helps determine how strong you are,"Elisa explained to me.

She leads me over to wire that connects from the machine to a punch bag. "You have to punch the punching bag as hard as you can. The harder the punch, the higher the arrow in the scale goes. This machine also helps us to determine who you fight against."Elisa continued.

I nod in understanding. This was overwhelming for me. Everyone's eyes were on me.

I was just thankful I still had my physical strength. As an alpha's daughter,I was born strong.

Although, after I was made my pack's slave,I was rarely given food, and because I didn't train anymore,my body was physically weakened.

This meant  I wasn't as strong as I used to be.

Taking a deep breath,I swallowed my insecurities and raised my fist up to the punching bag.

I focused on my anger. All of the doubts were turned into anger,a fuel to chanel my strength into.

I thought about how my mate didn't want me,how I was blamed for my grandmother's death, and how I was treated in my old pack.

I thought about how my father disowned me and how unfair my life had become.

I swung my fist as hard as I could into the punching bag. The bag swung violently to the side, from the impact of my punch.

I watched as the arrow on the scale of the machine went up and up. I closed my eyes tightly, waiting for the number to be announced.

A loud gasp came from everyone. I turned to see my mate behind me. He looked at the arrow oddly.

"You scored 89/100,"Elisa announced, but why did everyone sound so shocked.

"You're up against Clarissa."Elisa said. I looked up to Clarissa smirking at me, but I also saw shock and disbelief in her eyes.

She was scared of me...
