Chapter fifty nine

Lily's Pov

We had now been in the shopping mall for a few hours. My legs were killing me from being dragged from one shop to another.

Elisa was carrying numerous shopping bags. Anytime I had been in a shop and had looked at something for more than five seconds,Elisa had picked up the item and bought it with Xavier's card.

I honestly liked going shopping, but I couldn't stand going shopping for hours on end without having a break.

That's why I was relieved when Isabella announced we could go back home.

As I reached the top of the stairs to the car park,I felt like collapsing onto the ground from exhaustion.

"Who's idea was it to take the stairs again?"I asked in between heavy breaths.

Elisa looked back at me, shopping bags  still in her hand, and I noticed how she didn't seem to be exhausted from climbing the long winding stair case,unlike me.

"Oh,come on. It wasn't that bad. Besides ,you haven't shifted in ages, and it probably did you sone good or something,"Elisa shrugged.

"Or something?"I asked her,my eyebrows furrowed.

She didn't reply and kept walking towards her car. I glared at her before following her,Isabella and Amanda behind us.

As we all piled into the car,I saw Amanda checking her phone constantly.  They had all been acting weird today.

Earlier, every time I had asked if we could go back home,they would scream at me that they needed to get essential things.

They were clearly hiding something from me, but I didn't know what it was.

We soon arrived back at the pack house. I helped Elisa grab the shopping bags from the car before we entered the pack house.

When we went inside, the lights were turned off. It was pitch black, and I knew if I wasn't a werewolf, I wouldn't be able to see.

I heard the pitter patter of feet on the floor, and I grew wary as I turned around to look at Elisa. She wasn't there,though when I looked behind me.

Neither were Isabella and Amanda.

I heard hushed whispering before the lights suddenly turned on, and I  saw the pack in front of me.

"Happy birthday!"they shouted as I took in the living room of the house.

There were balloons and banners, and everyone was holding a wrapped up present,bit then I saw mate and I laughed a5 the sight of him.

In his hands was a large chocolate cake. I could hardly tell it was a cake, though, because it looked like it had been through a lot.

It was covered to the brim with chocolate, and I laughed at my mate's face. Xavier was covered from head to toe in flour.

"What is all this?"I asked him.

"I wanted you to have a birthday that you could think back to as a happy day. It's also a celebration of new beginnings,"Xavier announced.

I walked over yo him, placing my hand on his nose,where I wiped off a bit of chocolate with my finger.

Putting it in my mouth,I tasted it before letting out a sigh of satisfaction.  Looking up,I saw Xavier looking down at me,lust in his eyes.

He bent down, his voice husky as he spoke into my ear. "I suggest you don't make sounds like that or -"he was cut off by Elisa leaping towards me,leaving Xavier threat empty abs hanging in the air.

"Happy birthday!"she squealed as we hugged each other tightly. She handed me a present.

I was about to open it when a hand tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see none other than Clarissa.

"Happy birthday."she smirked....
