Lily's POV

As the car came to an abrupt stop outside of the pack house, nothing but dread filled me. I glanced over at my mate to see him getting out of the car.

Reluctantly,I followed suit. I feared what awaited me as soon as I got out of the car and set foot inside the pack house.

I knew that as soon I entered the building, there would be nothing stopping me from what I had to face.

I knew things were going to change. I knew now Xavier had marked me that he would be even more territorial over me.

He wouldn't leave my side.

I knew all this from the look in his eyes. I stepped into the pack house,my body feeling heavy.

I saw pack members gathered inside. They looked at me wearily, but the majority of them seemed relieved that I was back.

A loud squeal erupted from the crowd. I heard the familiar voice of Elisa .

"Excuse me, coming through. Lily's best friend coming through,"she shouted as she practically shunned people out of the way.

As soon as she was at the front of the crowd, she launched towards me. Her arms wrapped around me tightly as I fell on the ground with her still hugging me.

"You owe me an explanation,"she whispered into my ear.

I felt guilty as I looked at her. I may have had a good reason for leaving the pack, but I didn't think about how my absence would affect the few people that I cared about.

Elisa had done so much for me,yet I hadn't even told her that I was running away.

I saw Thomas, Elisa's mate, come towards us. He smiled at me,a look of relief in his eyes.

"Elisa, sweetheart,I think you should probably get off of the Luna, don't you think?"he lightly recommended.

I glared darkly at the mark on my neck. Where Xavier's two canines had sunk into my skin, now there was a picture of Xavier's wolf with the initials X.B on my shoulder.

This mark so far was causing me a lot of problems.

Because Xavier marked me,that automatically means I have to be the Luna of the pack now.

Elisa stood up from the floor and helped me up,muttering a small apology under her breath.

My eyes darted around the still watching pack members. I held my breath as I saw Clarissa in the crowd.

She was scowling at me,a look of pure venom in her eyes. Her lips were tightly pursed, her eyebrows furrowed, and I noticed her digging her fingernails into the palms of her hands.

Her gaze didn't flicker from the mark on my neck.

A part of me suddenly felt satisfied that Xavier had now marked me. With Xavier's claim, that meant that my position of being Xavier's mate wasn't in jeopardy anymore.

Clarissa was no longer a threat.

"Everyone may leave. Your Luna's ceremony of initiation will be taking place in four days."my mate announced.

There was suddenly a loud growl. It all happened in slow motion.

I watched as Clarissa jumped towards me,a deadly look in her eyes.

A daze of deja vu instantly came over me as I readied myself for her attack...
