Chapter eighty two

Xavier's Pov

For as long as I can remember, my brother has always had the upper hand.  He was loved by our parents more than I  ever was, and he always strived to make me suffer.

I had always loved him as my brother, though.

Until, he killed Mirabella and took my happiness from me,my mate.  I was lucky the same fate hadn't fallen on Lily, and I could finally allow myself to breathe out in relief at my brother's death.

I felt free.

He was gone, and he wasn't coming back.

I knew my parents would grieve over his death,they had every right to, but I felt nothing but relief and like a huge weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.

I stared at my brother's dead body,satisfaction filling me as I breathed the fresh air around me. My body heaved, and my once tense muscles relaxed.

I turned around to face my pack as well as Xander's. There was silence for a few moments before a loud cheat erupted from the crowd,others following among afterwards.

One by one, both of the packs bowed to me. Xander's old pack looked relieved at their alpha's death, and I was honoured that they had decided to choose to pledge their loyalty to me.

I howled in thanks to them before I finally went behind a nearby tree, and I shifted into my human form.

My head guards,Carlos,passed me a pair of boxers that I quickly put on.

"Well done, alpha,"he congratulated me, and I nodded my head at his words.

I quickly wasted no time in running over to Thomas, and he quickly handed me my mate. I stared at her in my arms as she lay unconscious, almost as if she was just sleeping.

My mate was okay, and that was all that mattered to me.

"Alpha!"A loud voice shouted, and I looked over to see Elisa running over to me,a look of concern on her face.

"Is she okay? Tell me,Lily, us going to be okay,"Elisa asked worriedly.

"She will be fine,"I reassured her, and I took a step away from the couple as Thomas engulfed Elisa into his arms,relieved that they had been reunited at last.

I looked longingly at Lily, wondering what she would be doing right now if she was awake. My hand grazed softly over her smooth skin as I stroked her cheek.

"Alpha, "Carlos announced,gaining my attention as I looked over to see a young male with blonde hair walking over to me.

I didn't recognise him, and I knew he was part of my brother's pack. "Alpha,I would like to apologise for all the trouble me and the rest of my pack have caused you,"the young man apologized and I remembered him as the young male Lily and Thomas had been with earlier.

"What is your name?"I asked him.

"Harry,"he replied, and I nodded.

"You and your pack are forgiven.  I apologize for the deaths that have been caused because of me and my brother's feud,"I nodded my head at him.

"I also wanted wanted to inform you that Lily's father was involved with helping my old Alpha take your mate,"Harry informed me.

I snarled at the information, but it all started to make sense as I priced everything together.

Lily's father's had appeared shortly after the threats my pack had received.  He was very clear with his behaviour that he disliked my mate and I hadn't seen him since my mate's birthday.

Between the time that Lily had been taken and the time that I had been fighting against my brother, Lily's father hadn't made an appearance since.

A loud growl interrupted my thoughts, and I saw a group of warriors handling the figure of none other than my mate's father.

Lily's father struggled as he was led over to me, and I snarled at him as he was forced onto his knees in front of me.

"A-alpha, I swear that I h-had nothing to fo with any of this,"he quivered, but he I didn't spare him an ounce of mercy.

"How dare you hurt your daughter like that, you peice of filth. You don't deserve my mercy after all that you have done, "i said before I spat on him.

"Kill him, "I shrugged as my mate's father was dragged away from me.

I stared at Lily,realizing that I had to get her back to our pack. I walked over to the middle of the gathering pack,growling so I could get everyone's attention.

"My pack is returning home to our territory. If you were previously part of my brother's pack,mercy would be shown to you.  I am sorry that you were all caught up in my brother's plan for revenge on me, and I send my deepest regards for those suffering from the loss of loved ones. If you wish to join my pack, then you are welcome to, "I announced to everyone.

The pack members from both packs howled in agreement, and I smiled,welcoming the new members of my pack.

As everyone started to follow me towards the direction of my territory, I looked back at my mate, laying in my arms.
