Chapter 1: That Meetup

'Ting tong...'

The door ranged. A girl on her toetips descended the stairs wondering who was there on Sunday.

'Ella open the door,' said her mom.

Her face full of happiness changes into a surprise when she opens the door. It was Jason and his family, holding bouquets in their hands. Jason and Ella had been friends since childhood, with a bond resembling that of a brother and sister.

This was because both of Their fathers were best friends, and they had known each other since Ella was five and her brother, Keris, was seven.

Ella and her family were really close with Jason's family but something happened which caused a rift between these two families and they were broken apart.

They hadn't met frequently since then. However, on this particular day, the Matthews family stood in front of Ella's house, leaving her wondering about the sudden visit. It turns out that their parents had planned this meetup.

"Welcome!" Ella's mother greeted them inviting everyone in for brunch.

In the living room, a sofa set was arranged, and Ella and Jason sat beside each other. Ella's parents sat next to her, while Jason's parents sat across from them. Both the couples were sitting in front of each other and everyone was busy and talking.

Curious about their unexpected arrival Ella took her mother into the kitchen and asked, 'How they are here and the vibe is all positive? Why don't you tell me about their arrival?'

Her mother replied, 'You were too busy with your work. I wasn't able to inform you. Anyway, let's enjoy.'

By saying this her mother left, the kitchen and made Ella confused about when this all became normal.

Laughter filled the air as everyone cheered and played games. It was kind of a bit weird for Ella to act like nothing happened but after some time she found herself part of a conversation.

Suddenly, a heavily intoxicated person stumbled into the room, clutching a bottle of alcohol for support. He struggled to walk and knocked over everything he touched, creating chaos throughout the house.

He came in.

He wasn't walking properly he was so overdosed that he needed the support of something to walk.

With this sound everyone was shocked. They stood up and were looking at him. He was not even able to open his eyes properly. Ella's mother ran and tried to stop but he continued to rant...

'Hello Ms. Ella.', He slurred. 'Congrats on getting the whole property into your hands. Take away everything from me. Why doesn't anyone kill me... Everyone loved her and never gave me what I wanted. Tell me, Dad, Is it fair? Is it? Even if I try my best to prove to you that I could run the company on my own. But every time she came in my way. Always. And what about me, Dad? Even though I'm the eldest, no one believes me. Nobody! And they all want her to rule. How can an adopted child run our company she can only be a gold digger.'

While he says, her mother slaps him for saying this, 'Stop this now Keris. We'll talk about this later. Now get lost '

But he didn't stop there and tried to harm Ella. Because of this, his dad slapped and locked him in the room and requested to Matthews (Jacob's Family) Family to leave.

This was all left in suspense as nobody knew that she was adopted...
