Chapter 21: Love or Promise

He grabbed her and pushed her off the wall. He placed his right leg between hers. He put both hands on the wall around Ella blocking her so she couldn't escape. He bends to get close to her. His nose was touching hers and the lips were about to start the work.

"Leave it," Ella said. "You just can't do this. Your love, it deserves someone else."

After hearing this, Jason rests his position, takes three steps back, and turns around one-eighty degrees. Ella escapes from him walking some steps forward leaving the wall, and showing him her back.

"I know why you're doing this but it's all useless," Ella continues.

"What?" Jason asked.

"You know that. Please don't use your tactics here. Love is a very emotional thing," Ella replied. She turns around and finds Jason just in front of her at a distance of an inch. "And if I fell in love with you... I'll never let you leave me until I die. I'll never think of love between you and Rory. I'm very selfish," Ella continues.

"And I love people who are selfish," Jason said. He leaned towards Ella and kissed her on the lips, as deeply as she had asked. Ella opened her eyes wide in surprise but accepted the kiss and closed her eyes to feel its depth, which made her feel lost in his passionate embrace. They were intertwining each other tongues, gently sucking, and exploring each other's lips and mouths with varying pressure. Jason, feeling uncomfortable, placed his right hand on her cheek, rubbing his thumb, and his other hand on her waist, pulling her closer. The atmosphere was sensual and intense.

Jason couldn't resist any longer. He pulled out the shirt that was tucked into her pants and slid his hand from her waist under her shirt, running his fingertips all over her stomach and waist. He touched her scar - the wound had healed, but a scar remained. He could feel the uneven skin tone. By this point, adrenaline was coursing through her body, giving her goosebumps. But Jason wasn't done yet. His hands began moving upward. They broke their kiss. Jason kissed her neck, then moved downward, kissing her collarbone and the clavicle of her shoulder. However, the shirt was no longer sliding down, so he unbuttoned the first two buttons of her shirt and kissed her cleavage.

Suddenly, Ella realized that it was too much, he pushed him away from her and they parted. "Stop it. You, baster!" she said.

"What? Don't tell me you didn't wanted it," Jason said straight.

"You're wrong. You'll never be my choice. Just at least don't cheat Rory," said Ella.

"You're lying. You wanted it as much as I wanted," said Jason.

"Never. I'll never love you and that's my promise," Ella replied and left the closet room. She entered the bedroom and walked to the bathroom to fix her clothes. Suddenly, she started to breathe heavily. She began to feel dizzy. Her whole body was sweating. When she lost her balance, she sat down on her knees.

At the same time, Jason also entered the room. When he found Ella panting, he ran to her immediately. He sat down in front of her, held her face with his hands, and asked, "What happened?" He asked hurriedly as he was concerned about her condition.

"My medicine," Ella breathed heavily through her mouth.

"Which medicine?" Jason asked.

"It's in my bag," Ella replied, pointing her finger towards the closet room. Jason stood up, ran towards it, and brought the bag in front of Ella. Ella dug her hands into the bag but couldn't find anything, so she turned the bag upside down. Everything came out of the bag and fell on the floor. She found a small medicine bottle, took a pill from it, and placed it in her mouth. Meanwhile, Jason brought a glass of water for her and gave it to her.

"Don't tell anyone about this," Ella requested.

"Why?" Jason asked.

"Just do as I say," Ella replied. She then called Exo on her phone. "Send the car for me." and then ends the call.

After some time, Ella got normal. She stood, kept everything back in the bag, and said, "Meet you at the lunch," Ella said.

"Are you really okay?" asked Jason.

"This usually happens to me. Whenever my heart beats fast or I don't eat properly, it happens. I even fall down or just pass out for some time. Don't show that you care about me. Whatever happens to me is my headache, not yours," Ella replied and went off.

Ella stood in front of a hotel named Ester and went inside. It was an old-money-styled and underrated place. There were only two people at the restaurant for lunch. At the reception, a man was sitting. Ella approached him and stood near the reception table. She took out a sheet of paper from her bag and handed it over to the man, saying, "Read this."

Upon reading the paper, he immediately called one of the staff members, instructing, "Guide her to Room number 226."

Ella followed the man to the room and entered. The room was spacious, with five people sitting around a large round dining table. There was one chair left, so she went there and sat down. Among them were Exo, Grace, and three other unknown individuals who appeared to be outsiders and Ella's seniors.

"I apologize for keeping you waiting," Ella said. One of the unknowns asked Ella to share the news.

"Well, the attack was successful, and Rory is currently in a coma," Ella replied.

"What about Jason?" Exo inquired.

"He still believes that Ella is with Victor Deadborn," Grace interjected.

"I believe his affection towards me is solely to seek answers," Ella added.

"We have avenged ourselves. Twenty-three bombs are no small feat. They will receive a bomb for a bomb," one of the unknown individuals, the most senior among them, declared.

"Don't worry, I am personally handling this issue. Victor Deadborn's mission will not go in vain," Ella assured.

"Can you tell us who sabotaged our bombing plan?" an unknown person asked.

Ella hesitated before replying. She gulped her saliva and said, "I am still investigating that, sir."

"Do it quickly!" he exclaimed. "In any case, Grace, Ella, and Exo be cautious. What will you do if they discover your true identities?" the unknown individual asked.

"We will take our own lives," Exo answered.

"Okay then, we'll be leaving. Execute the next plan soon," the unknown said and all those three seniors left the room. Ella, Grace, and Exo stood up and Exo went and escorted them to the door. After they left, he

"What's your command senior?" Ella asked Exo. She chuckles.

"Stop that rubbish, Ella," Exo replied.

"It's just difficult to handle everyone. I really don't understand whether we are with these or that," Ella replied.

"Only acting will save us now," Grace replied.

"How's your health?" Exo asked. He came back sat on his chair and took a sip of coffee from his cup. Ella and Grace were still standing but Grace sat down.

"It happened again. I didn't pass out but I wasn't able to breathe properly. It was alright when I took my medicine," Ella replied.

"It's good to see you're fine now," Grace replied.

"I'm okay. But let's look into this bombing map first," Ella replied. They continued with their work.

Here Jason too, instead of going to work, went to the Ancient Chemist lab.

"I want to test this drug. What kind of drug is this?" he asked the chemist. It was a small medicine bottle intended for injections.

"Wait. I'll check," the chemist replied.

After a while, he returned to Jason and said, "It's a type of anesthesia mostly taken as drugs. It's a very high dose. Where did you get it?"

"From Ella's bag," Jason replied.
