Amazingly enough by the next morning both Lotus’ and Ryker’s wounds were healed, expect for the broken arm. That is the privilege of being a demon. Lotus was training with the broken armed Ryker. Jiro hadn’t been seen since this morning at breakfast. Ryker knew why he hadn’t been seen, but Lotus was still in the dark. Even Tanya Walls was still recovering, but seemed back to her normal self. Helping the two with their fighting positions. This frustrated Lotus a little though. Her thoughts always returned back to that battle with Than and how she gained such power. Now she couldn’t even tap into a little of it. Ryker assured her that it would just take time for her to access it. But she didn’t have time for this. She had to save her brother no matter what, but it seemed like she would have to wait. Aria walked into the room with a serious look on her face, then going out the next door.

Ryker and Lotus were taking a breather lying on the floor, until Leah Weatherfield walked in. She informed them that Aria wanted to show them something very interesting. Following the young girl they walked through many hallways and went down many staircases. Finding themselves in the prison blocks. There were many demons and some humans in these cells, some were people they captured, others were common criminals. Coming into a room with a two-way mirror there was a man that seemed rather old. He had gray hairs. For a while both of them didn’t know what to say. Aria came inside that room commanding Ryker and Lotus to come inside the room with her.

Inside the room the man looked at the three that were coming in. “The girl is Kione’s daughter,” said Aria coldly. “Now you wanted to show her something, right?”

“Fine,” said the man in a raspy old man voice. “Since you lived up to your end of the bargain.”

A television rolled into the room. The man gave the tape to Aria, and then she put the tape in the tape player. For a moment while watching the beginning it looked like a wedding with bridesmaids and groomsmen running around getting ready. Then it showed her father wearing a tuxedo with a red rose in the pocket.

“She looks like the father,” said the old man laughing. “William Hares.”

Lotus looked at him. “How do you know my father?”

“I guess before war broke out I was your godfather.”

     “What exactly does that mean?”

     “Keep watching the video.”

Taking a seat the video continued playing showing everyone getting ready for the event. Finally the wedding began with the groom running down the walkway with his best man following behind him. After that a beautiful woman with long brown hair that was curled walked down the isle. Lotus looked at her mother walking down to marry her father. Her mother was beautiful, even on her deathbed she was still just as stunning. The dress she wore was of course white. The style was strapless with lovely beading around the boldest. Flowers were in her curled hair. Showing a close up on the groom and his best man Ryker backed up away from the television. Lotus turned around to see how scared he was.

“It’s just the best man,” said Lotus. “What’s wrong?”

“That man is Kern Silver,” said Ryker terrified. “You can tell by his eyes. That’s him. Isn’t it, Hares?”

      “What is this?”

“You’re father and Kern were quite close,” said William calmly. “They were best friends, you might say. But how to fell out surprised me. It all started with your mother coming to the castle to marry Kern.”

“Why would she do that?” asked Lotus.

“It was arranged, but instead she married your father. But like I said it was this woman that made a man of strong will leave his own kind behind, fathering a half-breed like you. Now do you want to know the whole story?”
