The team busted through the castle doors that was the main entrance. By this time most of it was engulfed in flames. Moving around the flames they came to a long hallways. Leah drew her gun out in case there were any sneak attacks. Everyone had their hand on their weapons, ready for any enemy. But these hallways almost didn’t show any threat. It had this unnatural silence to it. Like everyone that lived in these walls just vanished. That is why they were curious why none of the Generals were out ready to attack the humans in their castle. Aria could feel that they were hiding and waiting somewhere for an attack. It was just surprising that Than didn’t attack them first. In battle he was always the first one ready to attack.
Lotus fell down suddenly. There were feet leading out from a burning hallway that connected to theirs. It was a dead human that was a servant here. There was no time to mourn his death, none. They had to keep moving. Finally getting out of that long hallway they came to the main ballroom. Ryker looked around to see if there was anyone hiding there. Jiro contacted Setsuko, who was watching them through the security cameras.
“Any sign of Kern?” asked Jiro.
“None,” said Setsuko trying to hack into the cameras where the kind might be. “But it seems that the cameras leading to the King’s Quarters aren’t working. He might be in there. My guess is that they figured someone would attack broke connection with the cameras. So until you six get to that point I can monitor you.’
“What about Generals?” asked Ryker. He knew there would be some hiding somewhere.
“All we have is three,” said the boy. “Than Row is walking outside in the garden. Nowhere near you. Gash Thrills is somewhere near the garden. He appears to be waiting for you. Then there is Hana Snow who is heading your way, in the main ballroom, where you are. I suggest you hide or something.”
They hid behind some curtains as the footsteps came closer. You could hear them so much better, the boots she wore made her presence known to the group. Taking a little peak out from the curtains the resemblance between her and Yu was quite close. They both had striking red hair that was rather stunning. Suddenly she stopped in the middle of the ballroom. Hana took out her twin pistols and shot a couple of times at a curtain that had no one hiding behind it. It didn’t please her knowing that no one was there. The sound of guns dropping to the floor rang. No footsteps could be heard. Ryker knew this was bad. Soon the sound of a tearing curtain entered their ears. Aria was thrown across the room. Leah shot at her, but she managed to dodge all the bullets. They came out of hiding to aid Aria. Standing there in the middle was a giant red fox. The red hair was her fur. It was just like Ryker almost. His black hair became his black fun. Ryker was about to release his full form when Aria shot one of the front paws of Hana. A yelp came from her as she licked the paw.
“Leave,” commanded Aria standing up. “I’ll deal with Ms. Snow. Now go and that’s an order.”
They left the ballroom, leaving Aria and Hana alone. The human woman took out her sword smiling at the giant fox in front of her. This time she would kill this demon. “This time it’s a death match.”
“Please,” growled the demon. “You think I’m taking this battle seriously? It’s all part of the plan.”
“What plan?” Aria asked, confused by the demon.
Hana lunged herself towards the woman in front of her, scratching her cheek. She whipped the blood onto her jacket, shooting the fox. Dodging the attack the fox climbed on the stage transforming herself back to her human form. Blood dripped down from her hand. Reloading her weapon, Aria shot at her while she was standing there. Hana came behind the human in a flash of red. Before there was a reaction she kicked the human across the room again. This time the blow against the wall was greater. She screamed as she held her right shoulder. She had dislocated it on her impact. Hana laughed at her pain as she transformed into a fox. Growling, she approached the injured fighter. Scratching her armor it broke exposing her weak points. This was not how Ms. Bells was going to die though. Kicking the demon away, Aria relocated her shoulder. Another scream came as she fell to the ground.
