Doctor Papa (revising)

Law is sitting at his desk in his office when there was a tiny knock on his door. "Not right now, my little gremlins. Papa is working."
A very tearful voice answered him back. "Papaaaa" Law immediately set down what he was doing and quickly moved to unlock the door. He had to keep it locked so the mischievous gremlins wouldn't get in to anything they shouldn't.
Before him stood 6 year old Rouge and Ace rubbing at his eye, tears barely teasing the corners of them. Ace points to a large scrape on his knee. Law gently picks him up, setting him on the table to fully examine the wound. "Well, it's superficial. Does any of this hurt?" He asks as he presses gently around the scrape. Ace shakes his head. Law quickly scans the leg with his power, which sends the kids giggling.
  When room goes down Law smiles at him. "No breaks. Just need to disinfect and bandage, okay?" Ace nods and watches Law work.
"Thank you, Papa." Ace said. Law kisses his forehead. "Be careful, gremlin." Rouge and Ace giggle again as Ace jumped down from the table, running out like nothing had happened. Law laughs to himself. He loved his children.

A couple of days later there was another tiny knock on the door. "Papa!" He opens the door to see his oldest twins again. Rogue held her finger up for him to see. "A splinter? How'd that happen?"
"Ace was playing with a broom and I wanted it but he wouldn't give it to me. So we fought over it and I got a splinter!" She did a little sniffle at the end. 'Definitely Meathead's kids.' Law thought as he picked her up and set her on the table, grabbing tweezers, disinfectant wipe, and a small bandage.
He set to work pulling the splinter from her tiny finger, quickly wiping and bandaging it after. "There we go, good as new." Law says with a smile. Rogue continues to hold her finger up to him, looking at him expectantly. He chuckles before placing a kiss on her finger. "All better?" He asks her. She nods, hopping from the table. "All better." The two children run from the room, giggling. Law shakes his head and goes back to work.

  Another couple days later Law is giving Alexis a physical exam when there is a door knock. Law answers without having to be asked. Ace held his left palm out, revealing a small cut on it. Law sighs, picking him up to put on his table. Rouge quickly rushes in after them. "Not deep enough for stitches." He says, holding a towel to it to stop the bleeding.
"Hold that there for me, okay?" Ace nods. Alexis walks over to sit next to him, stroking his hair. "How did you get that?" She asks her eldest son.
"Daddy set something in front of me. I thought he was giving it to me so I took it, but then it cut me." He sniffled. Alexis looked annoyed as she stood up.
"Law, take care of him. I have a red head to talk to." With that she left the room.
Law shakes his head as he cleans the wound before bandaging it. "Wrong to throw your Daddy under the bus. He wouldn't have given you anything that sharp so that tells me he didn't know you were in there, gremlin."
Ace blushes, embarrassed. Law shakes his head.
"Alright get out of here." Ace and Rouge take off as quickly as possible.

A day later a loud banging on the med bay door has Law rushing to see who it was. Ace stood there, tears streaming down his face. "Ace? What's wrong?" Law asks him. Ace points from the direction he came from.
"Rouge is hurt badly. She's dying." Law rushes in that direction, quietly hoping his son was being dramatic. When he reached her, she was sitting against the mast, holding her arm to her. "Ace, I told you I was fine." She had a slight tremor to her voice. Law bends down next to her, taking a look at her arm. "Let me have a look at that, okay?" He asks, cradling her to his chest after she nods.
  When he sets her down he quickly throws a room up, scanning her. He sees a small break in her arm, sighing as it wasn't too bad. He saw that she was trying to hold her tears in. "I'm fine, Papa. I'm a big girl, strong like my Daddy."
"Oh that you are, my gremlin, but big girls can cry too. In fact if your Daddy were in your shoes he would be crying too." This got a laugh from both of the children. Ace was slowly acting less nervous.
"I'm okay, Ace." Rogue assured her brother. He nods at his sister.
  "Ace, go run and get your mommy and daddy for me, okay?" Law asks as he gently places a brace around her arm. Ace nods again, running from the room. A few moments later, Rogue let her tears flow freely. Law kisses her head after giving her some pain medicine. he placed her arm gently into a sling, careful not to jar it. "There you go, Beautiful." He pulled her to him, letting her cry into his chest.
A few seconds later Alexis and Kid burst in with wild looks. They relax as they spot their daughter curled up in Papa's lap. "Just a small break. Nothing too terrible." Law says to them, gently handing Rogue to Alexis. He brushes the hair from her head, kissing it before stepping back. "Hey, you got your first big girl injury!" Kid states, smug. Law rolls his eyes. "We are not doing that, Eustass-ya." Kid laughs.
"Oh come one, why not?" Kid whines.
"We are not teaching them that hurting themselves is a good thing. It isn't."
Just then Ace tugs on his pants. "I'm sorry."
"For what, Buddy?" Law asks.
"Rogue and I have been hurting ourselves on purpose so we could spend time with you, Papa. You're always in here, but won't let us in." He whispers. Law feels a pang in his heart.
"I'm sorry, darling. I didn't realize. I love you and I promise to spend more time with you kids outside of the med bay." The two children cheer at that statement, Ace hugging Papa tightly. The adults laugh as they sat and comforted their first born twins. They loved all their kids and would never let them feel neglected.
