Midnight Reassurance (revising)

Alexis sighs as she sat nearby, watching her husbands taking care of things around the ship. She hated how she couldn't do much of anything in her current state. She was pregnant for a third time, and not long after she had given birth to her second set of twins. This pregnancy was taking a heavy toll on her body.

Kid and Law had gotten snipped during her last pregnancy, but of course, Kid had to be an overachiever and his reattached. None of them knew this until she started showing signs of being pregnant yet again. Her body wasn't ready to carry children so soon after birthing, but she wasn't going to let anything happen to this one. She would do everything within her power to save this one, even if it would cost her, her life. They had so many close calls, that Law had to officially put her on bed rest. She hated sitting around feeling useless.

She didn't mind being pampered by her husbands, but she hated how they acted like she was so fragile that she would break at any moment. She was fucking pregnant not a damn china doll. Oh she couldn't wait for this little one to be born, she is so having Law remove her uterus at this. Her due date was also just around the corner.

Alexis gasp awake groaning in pain, she tried getting up out of bed, but ended up falling out of it. She weakly called out to her husbands, but she was to quite, they couldn't hear her over Kid's loud snoring. She gritted her teeth as she called out louder "L-Law!" 
Law jolted away look around. First thing he notice was his wife wasn't in bed with them.
"Alexis-ya" he called out to her. A groan is all he heard before she weakly responded "over here"
He shook Kid wake, he grumbled not  happy about being woken up in the middle of the night. "What the hell Trafalgar!" Law shook his head as he got out of bed "Alexis needs help"
He rushed to her side of the bed trying to help her up, stopping when she cried out in pain.
Kid was now fully awake as he jumped out of bed to assist Law with their wife. 
Kid manage to scoop her up as gently as he could, as they rushed her to the med bay.
At this point the crew started to wake up.
Once they made it to the medical wing, Kid placed her down on one of the many beds, as Law activated his room. Her breathing and heart rate had become very irregular. She cried out in pain holding her stomach. She weakly reaches out to Kid, he gladly took her hand, lightly squeezing  it to reassure her he was here for her "what is happening, Trafalgar?" Kid demands he was very worried about Alexis. She never reacted this way with her last two pregnancies.
Once Law finished scanning her, in a grim voice "the baby needs to come out now"
Law quickly got to work prepping Alexis as he induced her labor. Her vitals weren't good, he wasn't going to loose either the mother or the baby, not when he could do something about it.

After hours of pushing the baby was finally here. She was finally here. Her soft cries filled the room. Alexis weakling smiled as Law placed the baby girl in her arms "she's beautiful"
Kid smiles "Just like her momma"
Alexis smile fell as her eyes rolled back. Kid started freaking out, as Law gently took the baby from her mother, placing her in a tiny baby box for safety as he quickly got to work restarting Alexis heart.
Kid stood there uselessly not knowing what was happening, all he knew was the heart monitor shouldn't have flatlined like that.
Once Alexis was slightly stable she opened her eyes again, much to the relief of her husbands.
"Hey, what's with the long faces" she softly teased them, though her eyes didn't hold the warmth that they normally had.
Law knew right then, that Alexis didn't have much time left.
Kid grins happy to hear her teasing. He knew she was going to be okay, or so he thought. 
This repeated through out the night, eventually Law had to shamble a protesting Kid out of the room, making sure he wouldn't interrupt what Law was about to do.
"Law you know, as well as I do, that I'm dying. I'm not going to make it. I don't have much time left." She weakly informed her beautiful husband.
Law shook his head "I'm not letting you die on me, Alexis." He had dropped the ya part, she knew he was being very serious right now, but so was she.
"I love you and our beautiful family the three of us made together. I don't regret anything. This was the happiest part of my life. I......" her heart stopped before jumping back to life. She groaned locking eyes with Law. He activated room. Her eyes widened at what he was doing. She tried to protest, but he wasn't hearing any of it. He will make sure she would live. She needed to for their children sake. They needed there momma. They had Kid as their father, the children were in good hands.
"Law please don't do this. I'm begging you. Just let me go" Alexis was crying, she knew what he was about to do.
Law smiles as he too starts to cry. He placed a gently kiss to her forehead. "I love you, my beautiful wife."
That was the last thing she would hear from Law ever again. He ripped his heart out of his chest preforming the ultimate surgery. Sacrificing his life so Alexis could live.
Once it was done Law's body falls lifeless on the ground with a smile on his lips. Alexis let out a heart breaking sob as she got off the bed cradling Law's body to hers.
Kid hearing this rushes in and freezes as he witnessing the scene before him.
Alexis was rocking Law back and forth screaming for him to come back.
Kid didn't know how to react. Law couldn't be gone, how could this have happen? He thought back to all of the obvious signs. Alexis would have been dead, if Law didn't die saving her.
Alexis with a loud sob looks up at her husband reaching a shaking hand out to him, but he refused to accept  this reality, so he turned his back on her, leaving Alexis alone in her grief.
