Hey so on this chapter in the beginning, it's kinda like a recap of the last chapter talking about Grian not being able to figure out his two different personalities. Don't get mad if you think I'm repeating the same stuff bc I feel like it works and flows nicely.

Grian's Perspective-

I thought being a superhero was great.

I was finally gaining confidence.

I was so happy.

But...

As Grian, I wasn't.

It was as if I was living two different lives.

Cute Guy was very confident and outgoing and flirty while Grian was very shy and quiet and anxious.

How could two completely different people live one life?

...and how do I control it?

Control is the one thing I need, and it's the one thing I don't have.

Control is what I need to use my power, and it's the one thing that I don't have.

And control,

is the one thing that's making me go out of control.

-

"Grian? You okay? You're awfully quiet today." Kade said, looking up at me.

"I'm fine." I said, tapping my pencil on my desk as I tried to focus on class.

Kade narrowed their eyes.

"Don't worry." I whispered, looking down at my notebook and taking notes on what the teacher was saying.

After class, I walked to my locker, and someone tapped my shoulder.

"What?" I snapped, clearly in an angry mood.

"Woah, you okay?" Scar asked, looking a bit concerned.

"O-oh, hey Scar! Yeah, I'm fine."

I grabbed my superhero outfit, which was in a drawstring bag, and started to walk to the gym.

Scar followed me.

"Oh, that's good. You excited for training today? We get to see Martyn again!"

"Yeah, cool." I said dismissively.

"Grian...what's wrong?"

"Nothing, I'm fine."

Scar didn't look convinced but didn't push me.

Later-

I was struggling as I was fighting another villain with Scar.

This time, Martyn was sitting back and watching us.

Scar was doing fine, but I wasn't.

I was struggling and Kade was trying to direct me, but I ended up getting hurt.

Martyn and Scar finished off the fight and ran over to me.

"Grian? You alright?" Scar asked worriedly.

"Yeah, fine." I said, trying to get up.

"You lost control. You need to listen to your gnome." Martyn said and Kade nodded.

"Yeah, I was trying to help- "

"I KNOW!" I shouted, shutting up Kade.

Scar looked shocked that I had shouted, and I sighed, picking myself up.

"Look, let's go again, I'm fine."

"Grian, maybe you should sit dow- "

"No. I know what I'm doing." I said, interrupting Scar.

Scar looked down and Martyn sighed, folding his arms.

"Grian, you have to listen to your teammate. They're here to help you. Your teammate and your gnome are trying to help."

I nodded grudgingly, not really listening.

"Grian." Martyn said sternly, trying to get my attention.

I glared up at him and he sighed.

"Fine. Go back in the fight, see what's going to happen."

Me and Scar started again, and I immediately launched to fight.

Kade was shouting at me to stop and to chill out, but I didn't listen.

And that was a mistake.

I tripped and fell, and Scar caught me the second I teleported away.

Martyn's Perspective-

I sighed as I watched Scar and Grian teleport away.

The villain looked confused, and I punched him in the face, making him fall to the ground.

"Just give up." I said, shooting him a look and he shrunk down before leaving.

I shook my head and looked up at the sky.

"I tried to get you to listen to me, Grian. You did this too yourself."

I sighed, walking back to his school.

At least he'll learn to listen to his teammates.
