Scar's Perspective-

As the weeks went by, me and Grian grew closer.

He was...different though.

He would always be kind of shy and quiet during class but when we had our superhero training, he was confident, and we would always tease each other.

It never bothered me, but it was interesting.

And then Coach Hanlon said that superheroes had come down to take us on a real mission.

Me and Grian got assigned to a superhero called The Watching Clock or his real name, Martyn.

His power was to slow down time. He could choose how long he freezes time as well, but the limit is two hours.

He had an hourglass tied to his belt which had red sand in it, and he used it to slow down time, but when the sand fell to the other end, time would go at normal speed again.

He was kind of dressed like a pirate and he had red coral covering his outfit. He mostly fought with a sword, and he actually often made jokes during the fights to distract the villain.

"New superheroes?" He asked and I nodded.

"Nice, come on." He jerked his head out of the building and me and Grian followed him.

"So what's your power?" He asked me.

"Oh uh- I can change the amount of damage my arrows can do."

"Nice. And you?" He turned to Grian.

"O-oh, uh...I can...talk to gnomes." Grian whispered the last part, clearly nervous that he wouldn't be 'good enough'.

Martyn blinked and Grian smiled nervously.

"What can your gnome do?" He asked and Grian looked shocked that Martyn understood his power.

"Oh, they can create fire."

"Nice."

"Wait, I didn't know you could talk to gnomes." I said, a bit confused.

"I can't." Martyn responded, "My grandma could, so that's how I knew about it."

Grian looked up, and I glanced over to him, he seemed fascinated.

"Alright, come on. We've got a limited amount of time to get this villain taken care of. And this is going to be different than your little hologram practice." (haha...Limited Life >:)

Me and Grian exchanged looks and I smiled encouragingly.

Grian smiled weakly in response, and we headed over to the fight.

-

"Oh cod, that was a lot harder than I expected." I said, stretching as me and Grian finished the fight.

We turned to Martyn, who put away his sword.

He seemed kind of intimidating.

"So, some advice for you guys." He said, turning to me, "You're pretty good, just be careful on what you're thinking with what you want your arrows to do. And I like your confidence, that's good."

He then turned to Grian and Grian smiled nervously.

"You need to listen to your gnome. Try and keep your head straight and your gnome should do fine. Make sure to listen to them when they shout advice, they're smarter and know a lot more than you think." Martyn said, "My grandma always told me that gnomes were hard to talk to, especially when your powers get stronger. And when they speak in riddles, don't overthink it, the answer's normally simpler than you'd think."

Grian blinked, "Riddles?"

"It might make more sense later. I only know what my grandma told me from when I was younger. Right now, let's get you two back to your school. Nice job, you two work well together. And remember," He said, glancing at Grian, "Listen to your gnome."

Grian looked down, looking puzzled.

I put my hand on his shoulder and smiled sympathetically.

Grian smiled and nodded.

Martyn started to walk back and jerked his head.

"Come on! I don't wanna have to explain why I lost you two!" He shouted and I chuckled.

"Let's go." I said, holding Grian's hand as we ran over to Martyn.

Alright so PiperInTheInternet and HiPeepoSmile wanted me to make Martyn a superhero in here so props to them for this (I asked you guys this in my book where I give you guys a prompt and you guys make OC's. I end up using them in my stories and of course credit you all for your ideas. Go check it out!!). I made Martyn like this strict, kinda intimidating character, and ngl...it kinda works. I know Martyn's normally this like class clown, funny guy and I just...completely changed that XD

BUT IT WORKS SO-
