Grian's Perspective-

I coughed as I tumbled into a bush.

I groaned and got up to see that I was in the secret garden.

"What?" I whispered in a hoarse voice.

I shakily got up and walked around. I saw the gnomes gathered around a wilted flower.

"Why am I here? Where's Kade?" I asked, wondering where my gnome friend was.

"Kade's...dead." One of the gnomes whispered.

"...what?"

"He sacrificed himself and brought you here to retrieve your new gnome."

"What? But- "

I cut myself off as I saw the wilted flower.

That was Kade's flower.

I felt myself start to cry and one of the gnomes hugged my cheek.

"It's okay." They whispered.

"W-wait, but who's going to be my gnome?" I asked, wiping my eyes.

"I am! My name's Frisky."

"O-oh, hi Frisky."

They smiled softly.

"S-so you're going to be with me now since Kade..." I didn't wanna finish the sentence so instead trailed off.

"Yeah, but don't worry, we'll get to know each other well!"

"Okay, well first off, umm...what's your power? What can I do now?"

"You can now duplicate!"

"Really?"

"Mhm!"

"Oh...cool."

My mind was still on Kade and Frisky noticed this.

"You know," She said, "When Kade found out about Canon's power, he told us immediately, specifically me."

"What? Why?"

"Because he knew that- "

"Frisky! You and Grian have to go down now, you have a fight that's getting pretty ugly down there." One of the gnomes said.

"Oh! Right!"

Frisky ran me through her power and we practiced once.

It was...kind of freaky to see another me, but it was also kinda cool.

Frisky then teleported me back down to the fight.

I felt a cold shiver go down my spine.

Like fear.

Fear of failure,

Fear of not being good enough,

Fear of losing Scar and Martyn and everyone else I love.

Fear of...

Not being able to defeat the greatest villain of all.

Canon.

Sorry that this one's super short, but...idk deal with it.
Hope you all have a great Wobbledog Wednesday and enjoyed these updates!

Also if at any point in the story you see me give Canon he/him pronouns instead of they/them, please tell me

And if you're wondering why I don't just use he/they, I am being stubborn >:)
