Grian's Perspective-

I sighed and folded my arms on my desk, resting my head on my arms as I watched Kade.

They were trying to climb my lamp.

They slid down and stomped their foot angrily.

I chuckled.

"Here, let me help."

I gave Kade a boost and they tried to climb up my lamp again.

I smiled softly, watching him struggle.

"So are you still talking yourself down about your power?" Kade asked, scooting up my lamp.

"Yep." I said, sighing.

"I don't get why, I'm awesome!"

"I never said you weren't, I just...wish I was more useful. I mean, how am I supposed to be a superhero when all I can do is talk to little gnomes?"

"You know, the people who also had your power were able to be superheroes."

"I doubt that."

Kade shrugged and they made it on top of my lamp, cheering.

I giggled.

"Good job, Kade. I'm proud of you."

Kade smiled and slid down my lamp, laughing.

"Did you just climb my lamp to slide down it?" I asked and they nodded.

I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Your life seems fun." I said, resting my head on my hand.

"It is; well except when the person I'm supposed to be looking after isn't taking care of themselves and talking themselves down."

I shrugged.

Kade climbed up my arm and sat on my shoulder.

"You can be a superhero, you know."

"Yeah."

"You and that other kid. Scar."

I hummed.

"His power actually seems useful, though."

"I'm very useful."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Just you wait. Once you guys have combat practice, you'll see how powerful I can be."

I chuckled, "Alright, I'll take you up on that. But for now, we gotta figure out what else I can do to help fight."

"What about like a blaster that can stun people?" Kade asked.

"A what?"

"Like..." Kade hopped off my shoulder and grabbed their pencil and started to draw something on a piece of notebook paper.

I looked over him and saw his doodle.

"Kade, that just looks like a gun."

"Yeah, but this just stuns people and transfers over my power. And besides, Scar can literally make his arrows kill people, so yours will be similar to it in a way!"

I giggled, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"Now come on," Kade flipped the page, "We gotta figure out what your superhero outfit will be."

Kade scribbled the name 'Cute Guy' on top of the paper, and I groaned.

"We gotta come up with a better name."

"We can do that later, for now we gotta figure out an outfit." Kade giggled, "An outfit that'd suit a superhero called Cute Guy."

I flushed red from embarrassment and Kade fell over laughing.

I sighed,

"You're so lucky that I'm nice."

One Week Later-

"I hate this outfit." I mumbled, walking into gym.

I could feel everyone staring at me.

My outfit was pinker than anyone else's.

"You look great." Kade joked.

"Shut up." I whispered dangerously.

Kade shrugged.

I walked up to Scar, and he turned to me.

"Hey Gri-" He cut himself off as he stared at me, "-an."

He blinked, "Er- is that- "

"Yes, please don't start."

Scar slowly nodded and Kade laughed.

"Shut it, Kade, now is not the time!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's just his reaction!" Kade laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"This was your idea."

"But I didn't think you'd actually go with it!"

"Okay everyone!"

Coach Hanlon blew a whistle, and everyone shut up and turned to him.

"Today, we're going to do simple combat against like a hologram of a villain. You each are assigned different ones, some are easier than others, but we'll see what you can do."

Kade smiled and nodded at me.

I gulped.

"I guess it's time to see what our power can do."
