Chapter 9

Holly looked at Matilda before replying, "I don't know, I mean I am not intending to... I just cannot help the power he has over me." Matilda says, "honestly, I don't think you know what you want, but whatever you decide Holly... you need to tell Jason you're living here... he deserves to know." Matilda soon walked as Holly felt the words her best friend was telling her was right however Holly wondered, 'why is she always looking out for Jason instead of me?.' The next day at college Holly was by her locker as Jason came over asking, "where have you been, babe? I have been so worried." Jason hugs her as Holly nervously replies, "um...." Her phone beeped as she saw a text from Declan which said, 'still thinking about that shower with you.' She replies to the text as Jason asks, "who are you texting, babe? will you please just tell me what is going on, Holly??." Matilda says, "seriously you haven't told him, Holly??." Jason turns asking, "tell me what?." Holly says stunned, "what the hell, Tilly?!." Jason snaps saying, "okay, someone better tell me what's going on RIGHT NOW!." Holly replies, "well since, you're best friends with Matilda, why don't YOU just ask her?." Matilda replies, "Holly is living with Declan Kane!." Holly was stunned by how her best friend had just blurted it out as Jason looked stunned saying, "what the hell?! I should have known Declan was the reason you have been acting so weird, atleast Matilda had the guts to tell me this!." Holly says, "it wasn't Matilda's secret to tell!." Matilda says, "Jason deserves to know!." Holly says annoyed, "Matilda, you're making a scene!." Matilda rolls her eyes saying, "it's called tough love, Holly and I am just concerned for my friend." Holly says infuriated, "what the hell! I am your friend and that's total bullshit!." Matilda says, "it's actually not." Holly says, "but, Jason's my boyfriend!." Matilda asks, "then why don't you act like it?." As students watch the scene and talk about what is happening. Jason sighs saying, "I can't do this, Holly!." He leaves as Holly runs after him saying, "Jason, wait!." Jason says, "no, Holly! either you tell me you still wanna be with me... or I am not your boyfriend anymore." Holly says sadly, "I am sorry, I can't Jason...." 

Jason says, "then I guess we need to take a break, Holly and If I see you and Declan hanging out together again... we are over, for good!." Jason walks away just as Holly's phone beep and she sees Declan's text, 'Holls, carpool after college?.' Holly texts, 'I can't, Jason found out I am living with you.' Declan texts, 'oh my god, are you ok?.' Holly texts, 'yeah it is not good, Jason wants to take a break... if he sees us hanging, he's gonna end things'. Declan texts, 'would that really be so bad?.' Holly texts, 'I don't know if you are worth the risk.' Declan texts, 'ouch.' Holly texts, 'Declan, you have only ever let me down, why would I throw my whole relationship for you?.' Declan texts, 'I can think of a few reasons... well since we cannot be seen together.. it is a good thing I already found a new roommate.' Declan sends a photo however Holly texts, 'fuck off Declan! I am done with your games.' Declan says, 'jeez, someone is touchy today... I will leave you alone then.' The next morning Holly got up, changed, and headed downstairs where she saw Andrea having breakfast with Declan. Andrea says, "Good morning, Holly! we saved you some pancakes." Holly takes a seat replying, "thank you, Andrea." 

Holly saw Declan as she had a nervous gaze in her eyes. He stares at her with a cheeky grin on his face before turning to his mom saying, "I will not be home tonight.. big party after our first game." Andrea asks, "are you going to this party too, Holly?." Holly thought, 'if I show up to the party with Declan, Jason will be infuriated.....' Holly replies, "no, I have too much homework to do." Andrea says, "ah, you're so responsible darling, well if Holly is not going to the party then neither are you Declan." Declan says annoyed, "mom, I am team captain! I have to be there!." Holly gets up to fed Tiddles as Andrea says, "well then you better hope Holly changes her mind." Declan went to look for Holly saying, "please Holls, be my date to the party, there's going to be a million people there... Jason doesn't have to know we are going together." Holly says, "what the hell?! he is on the team too, Declan! it is too risky right now, Jason already said he wanted to take a break! That does not mean we are ready to end it for good." Holly turns to leave as Declan put his hand against the wall blocking Holly from leaving and says, "wait a second, Holly."
