Always You

Chapter 16

Holly picks up the phone and sees the messages, 'I hate keeping this secret from Holly, Matilda. You know this is the ultimate betrayal!, I  just need more time, she will never forgive me for what I have done!'. Holly is shocked by the text as later at home Declan asks, "are you going to tell me what the hell that was all about today?". Holly replies, "actually, why don't you tell me?". Declan answers, "tell you what?." Holly says, "I saw the texts, Declan, just be honest with me! you're the father of Matilda's baby, aren't you??." Declan was shocked saying, "what?! you think I am the father of your best friend's baby? I can't believe you think I am capable of that, Holly! you really don't trust me at all". Holly says, "Declan... just tell me it isn't true". Declan angrily says, "of course, it isn't true, we are done here, Holly!", he storms out leaving Holly stunned. Later in her room Holly stared out the window in deep thoughts thinking, 'I can't believe Declan walked out on me like that and he still hasn't come home'. She takes out her phone and looks at it thinking, 'I'm worried about him'. She decides to text him, 'Declan, where are you? you're scaring me, Declan.... I know you're there; I need to know that you're ok'. 

Declan texts her, 'I wish I could I tell you I am... but I'm not'. Holly suddenly hears the sound of distant sirens and feels her stomach sink with dread. Holly texts, 'Declan, I'm serious, where are you?'. Declan texts back, 'I'm in trouble, Holls.' He sends her a picture however Holly rolls her eyes texting, 'I can't deal with this drama, Declan, this is too much... I just need to know you're ok.' Declan texts back, 'you didn't trust me, Holly... how can I be? I'm so sorry.' Holly texts, 'I'm so sorry.' Declan says, 'I know, I just wish you'd asked me about the Matilda thing.' Holly texts, 'I want this to work, Declan but I need to know the full story.' Declan texts, 'meet me at the restaurant at 6PM, I'll explain everything'. Holly sighs thinking, 'if I want Declan back in my life... then I need to show him how much he means to me.' Just as Holly is about to go over to her wardrobe; she is interrupted by a small miaow as she looks at Tiddles bowing to her. Holly smiles and picks him up and takes him downstairs. She pours some treats into Tiddles's bowl along with some milk and heads back upstairs. She opens the wardrobe and pulls a beautiful red and gold mini-dress. She puts it on and looks at the mirror reminiscing, 'the dress I wore on my sixteenth birthday.' She remembers Declan's words from that night, 'you have never looked more gorgeous, Holls!.' She takes off the dress and heads to the bathroom for a quick shower before thinking, 'this dress will remind him of our good times together.' 

She looks at the time and quickly does her hair and makeup before heading to the restaurant; as she waits at the table outside a familiar face approaches her asking, "is this seat taken?". Holly replies, "Jason? this seat belongs to Declan". Jason says, "strange, I don't see him anywhere". Jason sits down saying, "this is the place where we got together, Holly". Holly says, "oh yeah.... guess I forgot." Jason says, "seriously?! I found you here crying after Declan broke your heart, I will never understand how he could let you go like that or why you are choosing him over me." Holly says, "Declan may be the love of my life." Jason slides closer to Holly as his face is inches from hers; Holly wonders, 'is he going to kiss me?!'. Jason caresses Holly's cheek saying, "face it, Holly... we're meant to be for each other." Just then Declan comes as Holly sees him thinking, 'Declan! I can't let him see Jason kissing me!.' Holly pushes Declan off and slaps him angrily while Jason asks, "what the hell was that for, Holly?." Holly replies infuriated, "seriously?! you tried to kiss me!." Jason says, "I thought that's what you wanted!". Holly rolls her eyes saying, "then you are clearly delusional!". Declan comes beside her saying, "you better get the fuck away from her, Jason! she made it clear she doesn't want you." Declan extends his hand to her; she takes it, and they head out. Soon outside the carpark, Declan asks, "are you ok, Holly?". Holly smiles replying, "I am now." Declan wraps her in his arms giving her a protective squeeze; she feels a rush of warmth as he holds her close, taking in his familiar scent. Declan says, "I'm not going to leave you again, ok? I am not gonna let this asshole get anywhere near you." Jason comes there saying, "whatever, I don't need all this drama anyway." Declan angrily says, "YOU'RE the fucking drama, Jason!." Holly was confused asking, "what are you talking about, Declan?". Declan turns to her replying, "let me show you". He brings her over to his car saying, "I brought someone here with me, but before you get mad, let me explain....". Holly is shocked by who comes closer to her and Declan.
