Athena

It's been a few days since these wolves moved onto our land. So far they seem to be good people, they don't make too much noise and have been very respectful towards our property. Their Alpha even planted more flowers around his house. They don't give off a threatening aura and the more I spy on them the more I see that they are just ordinary people.

We've been spying on them this entire time, but yet they don't even know we're here. I actually never seen one shift yet. The little ones shift all the time though and it's very interesting to see. The parent's will then tell them that they need to be careful when the shift, because supposedly they could get hurt and possibly die.
These wolves are hopeless. They shouldn't even call them selves wolves.

Although...their Alpha is quite interesting. He was able to sense us the moment he stepped foot outside and for some reason my wolf is itching to get near him. I feel this weird connection with him and I don't know why.

"Athena."  Sam mind links to me. I was sitting on a branch watching the new comers. I turned to see Sam waving me to come back down. I stand up and dust my self off before jumping down.
    "What is it?" I say.
"Why are we allowing these humans to live on our land. I thought we agreed to keep our land from intruders?" he protest.

Sam is my Beta, I choose him because he was strong and well trained. I trust him to watch my back the same way he trust me. His father was my father's Beta, so it was only right to choose him as mine.

"We still are, that's why we are watching them to make sure they don't ruin our home." I explain.
"But wouldn't it be easier to just kick them out. Then we wouldn't have to watch them everyday." Sam argues, and I understand how Sam feels and if it were anyone else I would have ran them out, but these wolves are different, at least their Alpha is.
"Sam are kind is slowly fading away. So many of them choose to live in the cities or towns. If we could somehow show these wolves what it means to actually be a wolf, then why shouldn't we." I explain.

I start walking to a near by river to get a drink, Sam follows behind me. "You really think these humans will want to stay? You heard their Alpha, they're only here to avoid a war, our kind don't do that. We fight to protect are home."
"If they choose to leave then let them, but if we can at least get some of them to stay. That will be better than nothing. We have to try Sam, for our people."

We reach the river and I sit on the edge to scoop up some water into my hands. I take a drink of the fresh cool water and Sam sits next to me crossing his arms like a little boy having a fit.
"Fine" he pouts. "But I don't like the idea."
I chuckle. "Come on, lets head home. Mark and Izzy should be at their watch post by now."

We head back home, which was only 30 minutes away from their campsite. We live in the middle of the forest, isolated from the humans. Our houses are made of wood and built with our very own hands.

I wave bye to Sam and head to my house. I walk in and go straight to my room to change into some Pjs. I lay in my bed and look up at my ceiling. There was a small square window that I could look up at to see the night sky. It felts me sleep and my wolf feels relaxed thinking she's sleeping outside.

I start to think of their Alpha for some reason. Lately I've been thinking about him a lot more frequently. He's very attractive, I can't deny that. He had short black hair that was neatly combed back and his eyes were the color of a clear blue sky. He had a great body, strong arms and cute dimples on each cheek, but that Alpha, there's something about him I can't put my finger on. It kinda feels like I know who he is, or more like my wolf knows him more than me.

I then hear a knock on my door that interrupts my thoughts.
    "Who is it?"
    "Your father."

I get up to open the door. "Hi daddy." I smile and let him in.
"I heard you came back from patrol. How's it going?" He ask and takes a seat on my bed. I follow behind him and take a seat next to him.
"Nothing new, but I noticed that the Alpha is becoming more aware of our presence." I explain.
"What did you decide to do with them?"

I honestly don't know, but I believe we could help them become something more than what they are and hopefully it benefits us in the end. Our people are slowly decreasing, with more and more wolves wanting to leave to the cities, we have only a handful of people left.

"I want to help them, I want to show them what they truly are and hope that they decide to stay to increase our numbers. The only thing I fear is disappointing our people with wasting our time on them." I say.
"You are the Alpha of this pack now sweetheart. So if you believe this is the right thing to do, I'll stand by it. Your strong and smart so don't let others cloud your judgment. Show these people why I made you Alpha."

My father made me Alpha five months ago. He said he felt it was time for me to take his place, but our people were shocked to hear that their Alpha was gonna be a female. I felt their resentment towards me in the beginning, but I was determined to prove them wrong. So I worked hard everyday fixing one problem after another, and soon they came to respect me. I don't wanna let my father down, not after him trusting me with this position.

"So did my daughter find herself a mate." he says and I role my eyes and shake my head.
"Dad my life is too busy for that." I say,
"I'm not getting any younger here. I want grandchildren before I get to old." he demands.
"Well you're just gonna have to wait a little longer old man." I say and we both start laughing.
