Chapter 25

Athena

   
It's been a week since we've been training together. The Sliver Moon pack have now accepted who they are and managed to successfully shift into wolves without the full moon.

We still don't know what Coles plans are, but I do know he won't stop at nothing to get me. We need to be prepared for anything and keep our guard up at all times. Jack and I have our men doing surveillance along the forest for any strange activity and we also agreed on putting a temporary curfew on to protect everyone.
   

I was sitting in kitchen eating my breakfast, until I heard my front door open. "Athena! where are you?" CJ and Izzy yell.
    "In the kitchen." I reply.
   

They both walk in with big grins on their faces. Why the hell are they so happy. They both sit across from me, staring at me with their big smiles. I start to get annoyed with them looking at me while I ate.
    "Can I help you?" I ask breaking the silence.
    "As a matter of fact, yes you can. As you know you will be our Luna tomorrow and I was wondering if we can have a girls night today?" CJ asked.    

Our ceremony is tomorrow, Jacks mom wasted no time getting it all ready for us. Me and Jacks relationship has been growing, and since we already marked each other it's been harder to stay away from one another. But he has his pack to run and so do I.
   

"Sure if thats what you want." I replied.
    Izzy and CJ high fived each other and start planning what we would be doing for tonight. I know this means a lot to Izzy. After tomorrow I will be moving in with Jack, leaving my best friend here.
   

"Hey CJ ,where's Mark?" I asked.
    "Oh he's outside in the field with Reed." She replies.
    "Thanks, I'll be right back."
   

I head out to the field to find Mark. I see them already walking towards me and I wave them over. Mark walks over to me as he says goodbye to Reed. Reed blows me a kiss goodbye and I just roll my eyes at him, if only Jack saw you.
    "Hey whats up?" He asked.
    "Let's go for a walk." I say.

  
We walked to the river and sat on the rocks to dip our feet in like old times.
    "As you know, tomorrow I'll be the Luna of the Sliver Moon pack." I say, swaying my feet in cool water.
    "Are you excited?" Mark asked. I looked down to see my reflection in the water.
   

"I am, but I'm also a little nervous." I confess.
    "What...you...nervous...shocking." He teases and I playfully push him.
    "I wanted to ask you something." I say.
    "What is it?"
    "Well since I'm becoming Luna tomorrow and moving to the Silver Moon pack. I was hoping you would take my place, as Alpha?"

He looked at me shocked, trying to comprehend what I just said. "Oh wow...really? You would trust me to take over? I thought it was your dream to be Alpha?" He ask.
   

"Of course it was." I say throwing a peddle into the water. "And I did enjoyed being your guys Alpha, but I have a mate now, who happens to also be an Alpha himself. We can't take care of two packs and we don't have room to combine our packs together. I trust no one else but you Mark. Do you accept my request?"

I know Mark will keep my people safe and become a really strong Alpha himself, I trust him with my life, so it wasn't even a discussion picking him to be their next Alpha. "I accept the position of Alpha. I promise you that I'll protect our people and our home with my life." He proudly says.

I'm happy I don't have to worry about this pack. Knowing I'm moving to a new pack hurts me, but it hurts me more to be away from Jack.

We talked for a few hours about the position and then headed back home after. Izzy still wants to have that girls night, goddess only knows what she has planned.
   

When we arrived back, we see the girls waiting for me at my place. They were all dressed up and I had a feeling they weren't gonna let me wear casual clothing to wherever we were going.
   

"There you are, are you ready to have the best girls night of your life." Izzy says. I take a deep breath and nod giving an unsure smile. Moon Goddess give me strength.
   

"Ok, let's get you to your room and get you all dressed up." CJ says.
    "Where are we going?" I asked.
    "We, my friend are going clubbing tonight." Izzy says. I swallow hard, knowing I have to be in a place full of people.
    "Wait, does Jack know about this?" Mark ask.
    "No and he doesn't need too. This is a girls night and we are taking her out dancing." Clair says.
Come on Mark help me out here.

He looks at my face which probably screamed help, "I don't think this is a good idea, Coles still out there." He says concerned. Just when I think he may have gotten through to them. CJ walks up to him and whispers something in his ear. Marks face turns red instantly. She kisses him on the cheek and walks away. "Well, you have fun tonight and be careful." He says. Dam it! Mark I thought you were stronger than this.
   

The girls pulled me to my room to get me dressed. Izzy got my outfit ready while Clair and CJ get my hair and make up done. Finally after an hour of pain and discomfort they were finally finished.
   

"There, all ready to go." Izzy say "Take a look"

I walk to my bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. I barley recognized myself, my hair was up in a braid bun with my bangs brushed to the side. My make up was not at all heavy which I liked. Izzy did a great job putting my outfit together too. I had a blue tight strapless dress that was down to my knees.
   
"You ready?" Izzy asked. I looked at myself one last time before heading out.
I can do this, it's only girls night, nothing can go wrong, Right? Izzy grabbed my hand and pulls me out of the restroom. Here we go.
