Chapter 35

Athena

   
Darkness, thats all there was. No sign of light anywhere, just complete darkness. I remembered feeling scared for my baby and the next thing everything went black. I don't even feel my demon anymore, just darkness. I swear I thought I was dead. I thought that this must be the end, but then I heard him, his voice calling out for me. I waited to hear my name being called once more, but it was just silence.

I guess I was wrong, I guess its time to sleep now. I hope everyone's ok, I hope Jack moves on, and doesn't blame himself, I hope...

"Athena..." I hear him again. "Athena..." I try to muffle a sound but nothing comes out.
"Athena!" He sounds closer, but I can't see him, everything is so dark. I try to look around, but I don't see anything. I start to feel hopeless. I tried to scream, but I can't even make a sound.
Is this it, is this where my story ends.

   
"Athena..." I hear him once more. "Wake up my Love." And I quickly stand up.
No, this isn't how its going to end.

I start running to the voice, I didn't know if I was going the right way, all I knew was that I wasn't gonna give in. I continue to run as fast as I can. Then I start to see something, it looked like a light that was fading.

I start running towards it, it got brighter every step I took. I ran so fast my legs started to hurt, but I don't stop. I push past the pain and continue to run. The light is so bright now and I'm so close to it, that I reach my hand out and hope and pry it brings me to him. Then everything went black again in an instant.

Was I to late, did the darkness take me.
No Athena, you found your way back...

I opened my eye, and right in front of me was him. The one person I never thought I'd see again. He was on me, his head down and tears running down his face. I slowly lifted my hand to his cheek and he quickly looks at me.


"You came for me Jack." He quickly scoops me up into his arms and hugs me so tight I thought I was about to pass out.
"I thought.... I thought I lost you." His voice cracks. "I thought I failed you guys."

I slowly pulled away, "You know?" I asked and he smiles at me.
"When I found you, something felt different, you smelt different. You still smelt like roses and fresh water, but you also smelt like ash. Thats when I knew you where carrying our child." He places his hand on my belly and leans in to kiss my forehead. "I love you so much."

Before I could say it back Cole shouts, "Your Pregnant!" We turn to see Cole still pinned to the ground by Mark and Jack helps me back on my feet.
"Cole please, you don't have to do this anymore. You protected your sister already. Why do you still seek revenge?" I pleaded.

   
"You don't get it Athena, even with your demon, your still weak. You could do anything you want, kill anyone you want. All the ones who have wronged you and yet you do nothing but take the abuse, the looks, the mean comments, but not me. I will kill everyone who as wronged me. I'll demand respect to those who have betrayed me, and my first victim will be your precious mate."

He quickly throws dirt at Marks eyes, causing him to step back and quickly shifts. He runs straight towards us and Jack pushes me out of the way. I fell to the ground and before I could get up, I smelt blood in the air.

In horror, quickly turned to see what happened and when I saw the scene in front of me, my heart sunk to the bottom of my stomach. My hands started to shake and tears started falling down my face.

Cole had his fist inside my best friend and I screamed in horror. "NOOOOOO!" I cry and quickly throw a fire ball at him. He flies across the filed and I quickly run to catch Izzy before she hits the ground.

"God Dam it Izzy! What were you thinking!" I tell her, but she only smiles.
"I wasn't thinking, all I knew was to protect my Alpha and you." She says.

I rip a part of my dress and place it over her wound to stop the bleeding, but the injury was to big and there was too much blood for me to stop. James comes, running to her side and starts to cry holding her hand.

She then places her other hand on mine, "Its ok Athena, its to late for me." she says.
"Don't talk like that, I'm going to save you." I cry.
"When you see Sam, tell him how much of and idiot he is." 
"I will" I smile.
"You have been the best sister and friend, anyone could have ask for." She cries.
"You will always be my sister, now stop talking like that, you'll be ok, I promise."

I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
Please help me, I can't lose her.
