28. VIHANG

"I know it's Panchi" as soon Maa said this I froze. It was as if someone had caught me cheating. It was kind of cheating because I've never hidden anything from Maa. I slowly looked at her and she narrowed her eyes. I told her everything since there was no point hiding anything now. "But Maa you can't tell anyone not even Sid" I begged her because obviously if Sid has even a slight idea about my feelings he'll vomit it out to Abheer and then even to Panchi.

After reassuring Maa not to tell anyone I went to my room and checked my phone before going to bed. I realised I hadn't texted Panchi about her dress. I opened my phone to text her when I got an idea. I went to the car and snapped a picture of her bag. I sent her the picture with a text. It was risky move but I did it anyways.

I kept my phone on the nightstand when rang. It was Vartika so I picked up. "Hello Mr Romeo" she said and I rolled my eyes on her dramatics. "what do you want Tiku" I said. I was already tired and didn't have any energy for her tactics.

"I'm upset with you. Why didn't you tell me you went shopping with Panchi" she said in an upsetting tone. I was confused who told her but then it hit me. "Maa already told Massi" I said and shook my head. I told her the whole story because apparently she wanted to talk about her love story but couldn't without knowing mine.

"ok fine send me the pictures and I'll help you. Now can we please talk about my love life and my out of this world fiance" Vartika said and continued with her jibber jabber. I put on speaker and zoned her out out while checking the messages on the team'sgroup. I don't mute the group because my team has a habit of getting themselvesinto trouble and then texting me on the group.

"I've sent you the pictures select one and tell" I interrupted one of her date's story. She abused me for not listening for about five minutes. She agreed to help me after another five minutes of convincing. As soon as I hung up her call my phone buzzed. I opened to check the notification and saw it was from Panchi. Her text said. I smiled to myself when another notification came. She sent me a request on insta. I immediately accepted it and even sent her one.

Maa woke me up early as I told her to. I took a quick shower and changed into my practice clothes. I packed my casual college wear in my duffel bag and went downstairs. "Vihu eat one more sandwich" Maa commanded but I only took half and kept the other half back when went to the kitchen. She came back with a lunchbox and I sighed. She stared at me until I kept in my bag.

"Is she also coming to the party tonight" I nodded and stood up to leave. I wanted to confront her about telling massi but there was no point in it. It was stupid of me to think that she can ever keep everything to herself. I hugged her and said goodbye. "Tell Sid to uber " I shouted and left.

Before going to college I had to make a few stops. After picking a parcel from a friends place I turned towards Panchi's house. I was stuck in traffic and got teribaly late so I decided to just drop off her bag and leave. Someone opened the door immediately after I rang the doorbell. "yes" Panchi's maid asked so I gave her my introduction and she welcomed inside. I was about to give the bag to her maid and leave when Panchi came out of her room.

"morning sunshine" I greeted her with a smile. It looks like she just woke up. Her hair was a mess. She cleaned her face and arranged her hair into a less messy bun. She managed to look cute even in that messy bun and drool all over her mouth. In that oversize t shirt and those pink shorts she could easily win any modelling contests even with that drool.

I gave her the bag and wanted to tell her about the surprise gift I kept in her bag but her maami interrupted. By the looks on her face she didn't seem too pleasant on my arrival so early. I decided to text her later and leave this place before her dad comes and beats me. 'thank you Vihang. bye" Panchi said as I left. I simply smiled and chose to keep my mouth shut.
