50. VIHANG

  "Sid, sit down" I told Sid. Without saying anything he did as asked, but his eyes didn't leave us. Panchi kept mumbling something in my ear but I ignored her. I sat beside Sid and stood there, refusing to sit. Slowly, I explained everything to Sid, from starting. I also told him why we decided to not tell anyone. Sid's eyes kept roaming from Panchi to me from time to time.

"Your brother and my best friend" Sid said dramatically. I rolled my eyes on his reaction. Panchi's face turned red, half from regret and half from embarrassment. She had tears in her eyes. Sid stood up so I stood up too. I held Panchi's hand more tightly. She too did the same.

"We both really love each other Sid. I'm sorry, I should have told you but this is the truth" Panchi said. She turned to see me. Our gaze met, I saw a determination in her eyes. Something raw and new. Sid was watching us. We both saw him. After thinking for a moment he spoke. "My brother and my best friend" he said in an awe. Panchi let out a sigh. I realized I too held my breath, waiting for his response.

"Ok Ross Geller, I'm relived you are not angry" Panchi said, making a reference from her favourite sitcom. She left my hand to hug my brother. I rolled my eyes and shook my head on their drama. Sid saw me, inviting me for a group hug. I frowned at him. Reluctantly, I gave in.

"Welcome to the family Sister In-law" Sid said looking at Panchi. She wrinkled her nose at the designation. Sid called Abheer and asked to join the party. I groaned internally. Panchi saw me and drew her brows together. I pointed at Sid burning holes in his body with my eyes.

Panchi chuckled and took out her phone from her jeans pocket. After tying something, she saw me. I was still watching her with a confused look. My phone lit up with a notification. She gestured me to check it. I unlocked my phone and opened the text she sent me.

"Don't complain now and I'll reward you later" her text read, with a wink emoji. My face turned red. I narrowed my eyes at her. Amusement clearly visible in her eyes, she grinned and winked at me. All my body's blood rushed between my legs. But before my inner thoughts could embarrass me, Abheer knocked. I thanked him silently for saving me.

"So everyone knew except me" Sid pouted when he learned that Abheer had a slight idea about me and Panchi. Even Vartika and Maa knew. Abheer and Panchi somehow calmed him. I called Vartika but she was off to Jaipur with her in-laws for her weeding arrangements.

After ordering pizza for dinner, Panchi raided her dad's liquor cabinet. She found an expensive wine. I opened the bottle, pouring the red liquid in everyone's glasses. Panchi was nested in my arms. Her back was touching my front. Her legs settled between mine.

Her earlier text flashed infront of me. I placed a kiss at the back of her head. Lost in her scent, I forgot the people around me. My lips making their way to the nape of her neck. I brushed soft kisses on her smooth skin. Feeling something on her hips, she shifted a little.

"Vihang" she whispered so her voice could reach only ears. Sid was busy discussing what to watch with Abheer. I shushed her and held her more tightly against my chest. My hands found her chest, drawing circles on her bare skin. Panchi gasped through her shallow breaths. Just as we both got lost in each other, the doorbell rang, reminding us of our surrounding.

Panchi immediately got up to open the door, leaving me in an awkward position. I covered myself with a cushion before anyone could make sense of the situation. Panchi came back in a couple of minutes and settled near Sid. "Um I want to eat ice cream. What about you babe" Abheer said looking at Sid.

Sid shook his head but Abheer widened his eyes and insisted that they both go and get some ice cream. "But the pizza" Abheer sighed in frustration. I was ready to throw my brother out of the window. I felt Panchi's eyes on me so I met her gaze. As if she was reading my thoughts, she shook her head, stopping from whatever evil I was planning for my only brother.

"Ok fine, let's go" Sid finally said, giving in to Abheer's constant persuasion. After they both left I locked the main door, just in case. My eyes found Panchi in a second. I covered the distance between us in just a couple steps. Grabbing her by waist, I pulled her closer. She tried to break free but I tightened my grip. She gasped. "Nuh Uh little sparrow, now I want my reward" I said placing my lips on hers.
