Meet: part 2

Nick's POV:

It's already lunch, I get a text from Charlie.

C- "Sooooooo, wanna get lunch together?? 😊"
N- "Sure! Wanna sit inside or outside??"
C- "Outside if that's okay"
N- Yeah! I was gonna sit outside anyway lol"

I wait for the bell and run outside. I spot Charlie sitting on a bench, he's frowning.

"Charlie?" I ask, sitting next to him. He doesn't reply.

"Charlie? You okay?" I say a bit louder, I catch his attention and he looks at me.

"Yeah, sorry, just got a text from someone-"

"Charlie! Answer my texts for god's sake!" A voice yells.

Who was that? I look up, standing in front of me is Ben Hope.

"Sorry, I've been a bit busy." Charlie looks down at his knees and frowns.

"Nick Nelson?" Ben looks at me and groans.

I let out a sigh and answer him, "Yes, Ben? What do you want, we're busy!" I gesture behind him and he looks at me.

"Me and Charlie need to talk, leave." Ben Hope isn't a nice person if I'm honest, he's kind of like harry, but a LITTLE less mean.

I look at Charlie and he's giving me the "Please help me!" kinda look.

"No. I'm not moving, Ben. Me and Charlie were speaking so if you don't mind, leave us alone."

Ben looks at Charlie and groans, "We'll talk later, Charlie.", and he's gone.
I look at Charlie and ask him if he's okay. "Yeah, I'm fine." He's clearly lying but I don't mention it.

Charlie's POV:

I sit with Nick for lunch, he tells me all about Rugby and when his training sessions are. "Sorry about Ben, he's-" I stop and think about what Ben said. "Don't tell anyone about this!"
"You okay?" Nick looks at me and his smile fades.
"Ben's probably just annoyed I forgot to do his maths homework." I couldn't think of another lie to make sure he thinks I'm not lying.

Nick's POV:
"Mum, can Charlie come over later?" I spill boiling water on my hand while making myself tea, making me squeal.
"Of course he can, Darling, I'm going out tonight so you'll have the house to yourself."
"Thanks, Mum!" I smile and hand Mum a coffee I just made.
"You talk about Charlie a lot, I'm guessing he's a nice boy?" Mum smiles.
"Yeah! He's really nice!"

I go upstairs and text Charlie.

N- "So, you still okay to come over?"
C- "Yeah, I'm just putting my shoes on the now 😊"
N- "Kk, Nellie is super excited to meet you btw!"
C- "I'm excited to meet her too! I'll be down in 5"
N- "Yay! We can play Mario Kart, I'll prob beat you so don't get annoyed if I do!!"

I chuckle and Nellie jumps on top of me to give me kisses.

5 minutes later the doorbell rings. It's Charlie!

"Hi!" He smiles. His smile is contagious. His dimples, his icy blue eyes, he's perfect!

"Hi! Come in, it's so cold!

We smile and I take his coat and hang it up. I look down and Nellie is looking up at me, I move out the way and let Nellie see Charlie.

"Hey Nellie! Your so adorable!" Charlie crouches down and hugs Nellie, he's so adorable.

Mum walks into the hall with two cups of tea.

"I made tea if anyone wants any." Mum chuckles at the fact that Charlie's face has went bright red.

Mum and Nellie agree, Charlie is nice, nicer than I thought.
