TW: Alcohol

Nick's POV:

As a away to cheer everyone up, Oliver's decided that after dinner we're going to the pub down the road.

I'm still annoyed about earlier. Dad texting me has ruined my day.

I've been at Uni for 7 months. Charlie has never been up to visit me, well, never stayed the night. I never got to introduce him to my roommates, I never got to bring him to the local pub, I never got to show him around Leeds, I never got to show him anything. All thanks to Jane and her stupid rules and stupid curfews! But today won't be like that. Yes, me and Charlie have been drunk many times. And yes, we have been to bars and stuff. But not here in Leeds we haven't. I have, but Charlie's first time will be today.

"You alright, Nicholas?" Connor asks from the kitchen area.
"Yeah?"
"You've still got that annoyed face you had 2 hours ago when you were rage-texting someone."
"Oh."
"You sure you're ok?"
"Mm."

He looks around.

"If you don't want to tell me, that's fine. But, it's just us out here."

I think for a minutes.

"It's my dad." I sigh.
"What is he saying?"
"He said he was proud of me and that he wants to get close with me again."
"With all due respect...you're dad must be insane to think that."
"I told him that."
"What if he texts your mum or brother?"
"I'll file a restraining order against him."
"Can you do that?"
"Never to late to try."

I get up from the couch and make my way into the kitchen.

"Can you go get everyone? Dinner's done." Connor says, not looking back to me.

What I've learned these past few months is that Connor is extremely good at cooking! I'm not even joking when I say he's better than most restaurants I've been to.

"Sure. What did you even make?" I peek over his shoulder.
"Tomato and chicken pasta."

I go to walk away before he pats my head, resulting in a smile from both of us.

I knock on Kara's door first, since it's the nearest.

"I'll be back in a-" She must be on call with someone. "Nicholas! What's up?"
"Connor's made dinner. Tomato and chicken pasta."
"Neat! I'll be 2 minutes!"

I nod and she closes her door.

Opposite of Kara's is Oliver's room.

I knock on his door, resulting in a muffled groan from inside.

"Connor, I swear to-" He stares at me.
"Dinner's ready."
"Right."

He walks past me, shutting the door behind him.

I knock on everyone's door until I get up to Brooke's door.

I get to the door, hesitate, but still knock.

No reply.

"Ro? You in there?" I ask her.

Still no reply.

I turn the door handle down, just in case it's open. The door opens and I find myself looking at a dark room, a dim light shining from the corner.

"Ro, you there?"

The shower is running.

I go up to the bathroom door and knock. This time, I get an answer.

"Yeah?" She replies to the knock.
"It's Nick. Are you ok?"
"Hi! I'll be out in a minute."
