Birthday Dinner.

Nick's POV:

"NICK!!!!!!" Tillie whines as I refuse to pick her up.

Diane walks into the living room, laughing.

"Tillie, leave your big cousin alone. He's busy."

Just as she says that, Tillie's little annoyed face turns into a sad pouting face.

"Noooo!! Don't do that to me!!" I cry, pouting to because of how adorable she looks.
"Don't fall for it! She's tricking you!" Diane laughs.

I give in and pick her up.

"SPIN MEEEE!!" She squeals.

Diane looks at me and sighs.

"Oh, Nicholas...what have you gotten yourself into?" She laughs.

I do as Tillie says and spin her around.

One thing I've learned about Charlie is that if he finds something he likes, he'll never tell you, but what I found out is that he likes when I speak French. So I just tease him when it feels necessary.

"Morning, Chéri." I say as he walks into the kitchen.
[Morning, Sweetheart.]
"Shut up." He's clearly holding back a smile.
"You know you like it." I tease as he walks by me.
"No comment."

I chuckle and follow him into the living room.

To be honest, I'm actually really excited for tonight.

"You excited about tonight?" Diane asks as we walk into the living room.
"Yeah! It'll be nice to just hang out with my friends."
"That's nice."

It hits 14:57 and Tillie and Leo are trying to drag me and Charlie into a game of Hungry Hippos.

"Tils, me and Charlie need to go soon." I say, trying to back away from the situation because we in fact, do need to go soon.
"Nooooo!!"

Once they've finally let us go, me and Charlie go upstairs to get our stuff before leaving.

"Char, hurry up or we'll be late!" I shout from the bottom of the stairs.
"Coming!!"

He runs downstairs and grabs my hand before I kiss his cheek.

"Mum! That's us leaving!" I call out from the door.
"Ok, boys! Have fun!"

We walk out the door and head down to the train station.

We get to the restaurant and see everyone inside. I pull Charlie's face towards mine, brushing his lips with mine. 

"What was that for?" He asks, giggling.
"We both know Tao won't let us kiss."
"True."

He looks up at me with a smile and grabs my hand.

"Come on." I say, smiling down at him.

We walk into the restaurant, hand in hand.

"Have you got a reservation?" A woman asks.
"Yeah. A table of 9? They should already be here?"
"Ah! Yes! Up at the back!" She points towards the back of the restaurant.
"Thank you!"

We walk up to the table and everyone turns to look at us.

"Hi!"

We sit down and talk.

"Nick!" Charlie whispers in my ear as everyone's talking.
"Mhm?"
"I've got a surprise for you!"
"Oh, do you now?"
"Mhm! Follow me!"

Charlie stands up and excuses himself to the bathroom. A few seconds later I do too.

As I'm walking into the bathroom, Tao makes a comments which I don't think is appropriate in the situation.

"Sooo? Can I get my surprise?" I ask, leaning against the sink.
"Promise not to laugh!"

I smile and brush the hair out of his face.

"Why would I laugh?"
"You'll think it's stupid!"
"Never."
"Fine. Close your eyes."

I do as he says and close my eyes.

A few seconds later, I feel something drop onto my hand.

"Can I open my eyes now?" I ask, desperate.
"Y-Yeah."

I open my eyes and look down at my hands. There's a box?

"What's this?" I ask, curious as to what this is.
"Open it and you'll see."

I untie the ribbon and pull open the lid. It's one of the lids that flip up, kind of like a ring box. I carefully pull all the paper away to reveal a beautiful silver necklace. There's a charm in the middle. It's a jigsaw piece with writing engraved in it. It reads:

"With this gift, I present my love to you. The pieces represent our connection! I love you and forever, we're Nick and Charlie ❤"

I start to tear up as Charlie pulls out the other piece from under his shirt.

"I love you so much!!" I pull him into a hug.
"I love you too."

Once I've calmed down, we go back to the table.

"What took you guys so long?" Tao asks, smirking.

I roll my eyes, scoffing.

"Oh my God! Those necklaces are beautiful!" Elle and Tara say in sync.
"Charlie, that's amazing!"

Charlie laughs.

"Anything to make you happy." He looks up at me.

I kiss his cheek and we start to order dinner.

"BYE!!" Darcy screams as everyone leaves the restaurant.
"Bye, Darcy!" I laugh.

I look at Charlie.

"Home?"
"Mhm!"

We get home and tell Mum and Diane about everything.

"We're having an early night! Night!!" I shout from the top of the stairs.
"Night, boys!!" Mum and Diane shout up to us.

We get into bed after changing and wrap ourselves up, cuddling up close.

"I really love you." I whisper.
"Yeah." Charlie whispers back.

Cause he already knows.
