Charlie's been staying at Tao's house for a few weeks, just so nothing happens to him because of his mum.

Time skip- June 6th- Saturday

Charlie's POV:

Me and Tao are sitting outside in the sun, when my phone starts to ring.

Nick💙🐶

N-"Char?"
C-"Hi!"
N-"How are you?"
C-"I'm ok, how about you?"
N-"I'm alright."
C-"Good!"
N-"Am I on speaker?"
C-"No, do you want to be?"
N-"Yeah."

I put the call on speaker, just so Tao can hear.

N-"Tao?"
T-"Nelson."
N-"You've not killed him yet?"
T-"You doubting me, Nelson?"
N-"Absolutely not, Xu."
T-"Hate you."
N-"You know you love me~"
C-"I'M RIGHT HERE, YOU KNOW!"

We all start laughing.

N-"What're you two doing today?"
C-"Tao's being lazy."
T-"Charlie, you didn't wake up until 12pm."
N-"Classic, Charlie.
C-"Shhh!
T-"We were gonna go out somewhere with Isaac but he's really sick, which sucks."
N-"Oh. Hope he gets better."
T-"I'll tell him you said that."
N-"Good."

There's an awkward silence.

C-"Nick, why'd you call?"
N-"Am I not allowed to miss my boyfriend and best friend?"
T-"Even I know you're not calling for that reason, Nelson."
N-"Mm."
C-"You gonna tell us?"
N-"Fine! I'm playing an away match."
C-"ACTUALLY!?"
N-"Yeah. I didn't want to say in case you wanted to come watch."
T-"Where are you playing?"
N-"...Paris."
C-"PARIS!?"
T-"Woah."
N-"Yeah, I'm really nervous! What if I suck?"
C-"Nicholas, shut up. You are the rugby king."
N-"Am I still?"
T-"Nick, there's a showcase for the old rugby lads and your stuff is in the middle. IT EVEN SAYS "Nick Nelson- King Of Rugby" ON IT, FOR GOD'S SAKE!"
N-"Actually?"
C-"Yes, Nicholas."
T-"When are you playing?"
N-"Next week."
C-"Now I want to come watch!"
N-"I'd love if you did, but it's on a Wednesday and I can't have you getting in trouble."
C-"If I didn't love you, I'd be arguing back."
N-"Love you too."
T-"Third-wheeling sucks."
C-"We both know you miss Elle."
T-"SHUT UP!"
N-"Oi! I miss her too, you know!"
C-"You think I don't?"
N-"Shh!"
C-"We all miss her."
N-"Ah, gotta go, Connor's just brought Oliver back and-"

A crackling sound comes from Nick's phone.

C-"Nick?"
O-"HI, CHARLIE!"
C-"Hi, Oliver."
O-"BROOKE SAYS HI! SAME WITH ARIA AND KARA AND-"
C-"Give the phone back to Nick."
O-"BUT WHY!?"
C-"Because-"
N-"God, I hate when he's drunk."
T-"Your roommate is very..."
N-"Annoying, is the word."
C-"He's a lot less hyper when he's sober."
N-"Gotta go! Love you both!"
C-"Love you more!"
T-"Bye, loser."

I hang up the phone.

"Nick's playing an away match!" I scream happily.
"Yes, Charles. I know."
"Do you think they'll win?"
"Charlie, Leeds have won every time!"

I roll my eyes.

"So, what are we actually doing today?" He stands up.
"It's up to you."
"Shopping? Movies?"
"Both."
"Genius!"

We run inside, grab our bags, and before you know it, we're jumping on a train.

The train ride there was ok, a few people from our school and a few people who used to go to our school were talking to us, sadly, no one I'm actually friends with. But, that changed when Christian, me and Nick's friend, came over to us.

"Charlie!" He throws an arm around my shoulder.
"Hi."
"How's you?"
"Good!"
"How's Nick? You seen him?"
"Yeah! Seen him a while ago. He's ok, I think."
"Need to catch up with him."
"Yeah."

We keep talking until Tao tells me we need to get off soon.

"It was nice seeing you!" I wave goodbye.
"Yeah!"

He pauses for a minute before running back over to me and shouting, "Wait!"

I turn around and he's raking in his bag for something.

"Here," he hands me...a ticket for Nick's rugby game. "It's from me, Otis and Sai."
"Christian, I couldn't take that." I give it back.
"No! Me and the other two have our tickets. Sai's bringing his girlfriend and me and Otis are going solo. So, it's only fair if you come to see Nick play."

I smile at him and take the ticket from his open hand.

"I'll text you the details, yeah?" He zips his bag back up.
"Yeah! Thanks."
"Rugby lads stick together, yeah?"

I can't help but laugh.

"Yeah."

He ruffles up my hair before I get off the train.

When the train pulls away, I notice him sitting with a group of friends. He notices and waves, even though everyone else is drawing me dirty looks.

"Didn't know you two were close." Tao taps my shoulder.
"Yeah. We got quite close during him and Nick's final year."
"Oh. So, you excited to go to the game?"

I jump up and down in excitement.

I GET TO GO TO NICK'S GAME IN PARIS!!

"I GET TO GO WATCH NICK PLAY IN PARIS! WHY WOULD I NOT BE EXCITED!?"

Tao bursts into laughter, drawing everyone's attention towards us.

"C'mon, lover boy."

We walk towards the sweetie isle and Tao's first reaction is to run back and grab a trolley.

"Tao, we're not having a feast! Put it back!" I laugh, pulling the trolley away from him.
"We need snacks!"
"Yeah, but not the whole shop!"

He ignores what I say and grabs all of his favourite snacks.

After he's done with his massive list, I get to pick.

Tao decided to buy every sweetie here. Me, on the other hand, only bought a couple of things.

"Lame."
"Shut up." I flip him off.

We've just got in our seats when my phone starts to buzz repeatedly in my pocket.

I check to see what's happening and Christian's added me to a group chat with him, Sai and Otis.

Rugby Lads 🏈👑

CM-"Btw, Nick has no idea we're coming to his game! No one tell him! Aiming that towards you, Charlie Spring"

C-"No promises 🤐"

S-"Charlie, mate! How are you?"

C-"I'm good, Sai! You?"

S-"I'm alright"

O-"Oi! I'm here too!"

C-"Hi, Otis"

CM-"I WAS THE ONE WHO MADE THIS SO SHOULDN'T I GET A LITTLE APPRECIATION!??!?!" 

S-"No"

O-"Nah"

CM-"😒"'

C-"Can I text later? Me and my friend are watching a movie"

S-"Yeah! See ya soon, yeah?"

CM-"Bye, Spring!"

O-"New nickname!?!?!?"

CM-"GOD YES!!"

S-"Poor Charlie 🤣"

I switch off my phone and the movie starts.
