Btw, I'm trying a new texting thingy. So no more:

C-"Hi!"

N-"Hi!"

But instead:

Charlie💛🐻
-Hi!

Nick💙🐶
-Hi!

TW: Arguing/yelling, violence

Charlie's POV:

I step into the house and find myself on the urge of crying again.

"I'm home!" I call out, trying to hide my tears.

No one replies, so I walk into the living room.

"Ah! Charlie, you're back." Dad stands up and hugs me.
"Yeah, sadly." I mumble to myself.

I look towards the couch and Mum gives me a wave.

"I-I'm gonna go unpack my things." I rush out.
"Ok, I recommend getting changed into something that's not...Nick's." Mum groans as she says his name.

I don't really see the problem. I'm wearing Nick's Leeds Rugby hoodie and...

Ah...woops.

"Oh." I chuckle to myself.

I head upstairs and into my room.

I start to unzip my bags, when the door opens.

"Mum, I'm-" I turn around and tears dare to escape my eyes.
"Missed me?" Tori smirks.

She opens her arms for a hug and I don't waste any time, running into her and hugging her back immediately.

"Why are you back? It's a Wednesday." I ask, crying.
"Thought it'd be nice to come see you."

We pull away and sit on my bed.

"So, how's Nick? You said he broke his arm?" Tori asks, helping me get my bags away.
"He's..."

Tori tilts her head in confusion.

"He's upset."
"About you leaving again?"
"Mhm."

She gives me a sad smile.

"If it makes you feel any better, Michael's coming to dinner tonight." She smirks.
"Actually!?"
"Yep."
"How has mum allowed that!?"
"I asked dad."
"Mum is definitely going to have a fit if your boyfriend shows up for dinner."

She starts laughing, a genuine Tori laugh.

"Lets get you unpacked."

~~

"CHARLIE! VICTORIA! YOUR GRANDPARENTS WILL BE HERE ANY MINUTE NOW!" Mum shouts up.

Tori starts mocking her with her hands, and before she can stop, Dad walks in.

"Victoria, are you-"

Me and Tori freeze in place, both of us holding back laughter.

"Don't let your mum catch you doing that, Victoria, because I am not getting involved again."

Dad asks if Tori's ready for dinner and when he leaves, me and Tori both burst into laughter.

"When's Michael getting here?" I ask.
"Right now, I think."

~~

We're sitting at the table, when my Grandfather starts talking to me.

"So, where's your friend, Nicholas?" He asks before shoving a forkful of mashed potato in his mouth.
"H-He's...in university."
"Oh! You'll be going their next year, yeah? You're Year 12?"
"No, I'm Year 13 and I'm going to university in September."
