Chapter 3- The New Girl

Léannah'sPOV

The next morning Shenice picked me up from the house. Kenneth was out and Ray was sleeping and I figured he'd know where I was going so I just left. Shenice and I pulled up in the parking lot and walked in. We shopped around for about 2 hours and it was the best 2 hours in my life. I legit got a whole new wardrobe of clothes I've always wanted but can never afford. I was really great full that Kenneth gave me this money. I after I was sure I was done we decided to get something to eat. We ordered from Taco Bell and sat down at a table. "So how was your night" she asked taking a bite out of her taco

"I just stayed in my room that night. Je ne pouvais pas être dérangé with them last night" I said before realizing I just mixed English with French

"Speaking Franglais I see" Shenice smirked at me and I playfully rolled my eyes

"How am going to survive in school Barbie, je peux même pas rester dans une même langue for one conversation" I said frustrated

I'm so use to having all my classes in French and just having English class in English. I have no problem understanding and writing it but speaking it is a different story. I tend to switch languages when I'm not really paying attention to what I'm saying. I know I'm gonna have a hard time in school since all my courses will be in english. "Don't stress it Léanne, your a good student and if you need any help you always have that boy Rayan to help you." She said

My mind went to Ray. Would he really be there for me when I needed him? I asked myself. "ce qui te tracasse Léanne?" Shenice asked when she saw the worry on my face

I sighed "I don't think Rayan likes me very much or he's embarrassed by me" I said

"Why do you think that"

"Because he's so nice when he's alone but different when around his friends" I said

"Léanne all teenage boys are like that but I'm sure Rayan will warm up to you and start treating you like his sister." She reassured me

"I guess"

There was silence for a while as we ate "you know I have to back to Montréal" she said

"Yea I know" I said kinda sad

"But I'll never forget you Léannah. You will always have that special place in my heart" she said sincerely

"Merci Shenice for taking care of me and actually giving a shit for 7 years. You were like a second mother to me and I appreciate that." I said

"I saw something special in you the first moment I saw you and I couldn't help but grow attached to you. You have that effect on people Léanne" she said smiling sweetly at me and I blushed

"Promise you won't forget about me" I said

"I promise"

Ray'sPOV

I woke up around 1:00. For about a half hour I felt like everything that happened with Léannah this weekend was a dream until I heard her voice come through the front door. It's not that I have a problem with her it just that I'm use to being an only child and not having someone to look out for. So this whole big brother thing is new to me. Her and Shenice walked into the living room with their hands full of bags "hello Rayan" Shenice greeted me

"Wassup"

I glance at Léannah and she gave me a shy smile and looked away. "Okay Léanne I have to go but don't forget to call me whenever you need someone to talk to and I won't forget to check up on you" Shenice said to her

"How am I suppose to call you" Léannah asked

"Oh yea I almost forgot," Shenice said pulling out something out of her purse and giving it to Léannah "I got this for you" she said handing her a white iPhone 5
