Finale- Saying Goodbye

I woke up bright and early because I couldn't contain my excitement. It was Christmas morning and all the gifts under the three downstairs was enough to wake up multiple times during the night. I got out of bed and brushed my teeth then I raced as fast as I can downstairs. I wasn't the only one up cause Laylani was sitting on the couch texting away on her phone. "Merry Christmas," I cheered and took a seat next to her.

"Thank God you're up!" She exclaimed. "Mom and Kenneth said we had to wait till they wake up to open the gifts so they can take pictures," she pouted and crossed her arms. "It's not fair."

I chuckled and took the remote from her and started channel surfing. Everything that was on TV was about Christmas. I sighed and turned to Layla, "you wanna tell me what you got me?" I asked her with a smile.

"Nope, both your gifts are surprises." She said giving me a goofy grin.

"Urgh, you're no fun." I said and shot cushion at her.

She giggled and shot it back at me. After that we heard someone coming downstairs. We stared intensively at the staircase hoping it was Lauryn or my dad or both so we finally open our gifts but when Ray came downstairs followed by Justin we both groaned and glared at them. "Well Merry Christmas to you too." Justin said and rolled his eyes.

"Why didn't y'all open your gifts yet?" Ray asked us.

"My mom and your dad said we have to wait till they wake up."

"And they're gonna wake up right now," I got up from the couch and pulled Layla up with me and waddled my way up stairs with the rest of them following behind me.

We all barged into dad and Lauryn's room and jumped on their bed. "Its Christmas!" We all yelled.

They laughed and sat up in their bed. "Y'all just couldn't wait one more hour?" Lauryn laughed.

"One more? Are you crazy!" Leave it to Laylani to be dramatic. "I've been up since 7:30!"

"I don't even wake up this early for school." I added.

"Exactly," Ray said after me.

"Everybody be quite," dad said all of a sudden/

"What baby?" Lauryn asked with concern written all over he face.

"You notice that?"

"What daddy?"

"We finally look like a family." He said and pulled us all closer together. 

"Really pops? You made it seem like some scary shit was about to happen." Ray said.

"Whatever, lets go open presents."

All us kids jumped off the bed and ran downstairs. We were already opening presents before Lauryn and dad came downstairs to take pictures. "Y'all couldn't just wait, huh?" He said and laughed. "Merry Christmas."

Lauryn snapped thousands of pictures while we gushed over all the expensive gifts we got. In the middle of thanking everyone for what they got us, dad called me over to the front door, "Léannah, come here for a minute." I nodded and struggled to get up. After Lauryn helped me to my feet, I thanked her and made my way over to dad. "Close, your eyes." I looked at him weirdly and he gave me a look that said just do it, so, I did.

I closed my eyes and then I felt him grabbed my hand hand and lead me outside. We walked down the porch and then walked a few steps before stopping. "Open, your eyes." 

I slowly opened my eyes and saw a deep cherry red Range Rover sitting in the driveway with a big ass red bow on it. "Merry Christmas, baby girl."

"This is for me?" I stared at it shocked.
