Chapter 23- Two Can Play That Game

Ray'sPOV

Léannah's been acting weird ever since she got home from school. I tried asking her what's wrong but she ignores me. I don't know what's wrong with her but whatever it is its bothering her.

I sat up in my room while thinking about what's making Léannah so weird. As if on cue she barged into my room with Danielle behind her. "When the hell did you get here?" I asked confused cause I don't recall her being here before I went in my room.

"Don't worry about that," she said as her and Léannah sat down on my bed. "We need to talk"

"Wassup?" I asked sitting up.

"Léannah got blackmailed by Kayla today" Danielle said while Léannah stayed quiet.

"Léannah, what is she talking about?" I asked clearly confused and scared at the same time.

Léannah sighed and looked like she was about to cry. "She caught us Ray" she said. "She said she wouldn't show the pictures if we end what we have and you get with her by the end of the week" she said trying to hide the fact that she wanted to cry.

I thought real hard about this. I didn't want to lose Léannah mainly because I just got her but I also didn't want to those pictures to get out and we never see each other again. "What are we gonna do?" I asked.

"Are you guys gonna break up?" Danielle asked.

"How do you know about us?" I asked confused.

"Well I'm one of Léannah's bestfriends and she just mentioned it like 5mins ago." She replied and I nodded.

"Aren't you weirded out by this?" I asked.

"Naw," she said shaking her head. "My family believes in incest. They think if we marry our second or third cousins then we would keep our family name and bloodline but I don't believe in it. Also Léannah explained you guys are not blood so I'm cool." She explained.

"Wait, so you mom is like your dad's cousin?" I asked curiously.

"Yup, they're third cousins. Which means my dad married his cousin's son's daughter."

"...okay" I said trying to understand.

All of a sudden she started smiling big.

"Why are you smiling about?" Léannah said making my thought audible.

"Cause!" She exclaimed. "You guys are so cute even before y'all planned on this happening. I knew there was a connection between you guys" she cooed. "But anyways back to the subject what are y'all gonna do?"

"Ray you need to go out with Kayla" Léannah said. "That's the only way to keep this a secret"

"But I don't wanna be with Kayla," I said. "I wanna be with you"

"Ray all you have to do is take her out and say you ended it. She would believe it since all she wants is you even if its for one night"

I groaned. I didn't want to take Kayla out simply because I don't like being around her. There was a reason we broke up and not for us to get back together. "Please Ray," Léannah begged. "Do it for us"

I couldn't say no to her especially since she's doing her puppy dog face. "Fine" I mumbled.

"Great!" Danielle exclaimed. "Call her, now" she ordered handing me the house phone.

"Now?" I questioned.

"Now" they both said.

I groaned again and dialed Kayla's number hoping she wouldn't pick up but to my luck she did. "Hello?" Oh how innocent and sweet she sounded.
