*Three weeks later*
June's POV
I took a deep breath in, trying to keep myself from bending over and gasping for air. I couldn't let Leo know I was struggling.
He stood across from me, ready to block or attack, watching. I almost snapped. He didn't look like he was struggling at all.
I had to win.
I sniffed, my arms raised as we stared at each other, waiting for the other to make a move. He gave me a small nod. It had been weeks at this point, and we had gotten used to sparring.
I nodded back before taking a deep breath in and charging forward, stepping behind him to try and take him off guard. I shot my arm out, trying to punch or grab him.
He was quick to turn around, grabbing my arm and pulling me forward.
It was so fast I could barely register that I had lost my balance and was falling as his other hand slipped onto my back, cushioning my fall as we both fell forward.
We landed with a loud thud, one of his hands between my back and the floor and the other firmly planted to my side.
I panted, my eyes closed as I took a second to catch my breath.
"You suck," I opened my eyes, smiling, "I was totally gonna win."
"Maybe in a few years you'll get a hit on me," Leo smirked, staring down at me.
I gasped, trying to look offended. It worked for a second before I smiled, turning to the side to let out a quick laugh.
I turned back to face Leo, who was looking at me. His smirk had softened into a small smile as he watched me, his eyes seemingly tracing over my features.
If I didn't know any better I would think he was an actor in some cheesy romance movie watching the main character.
But that wasn't it.
But it probably was. I wasn't stupid.
The worst part of it all was that I probably looked the same as my eyes ran up his arm and to his face. I could feel his fingers brushing against my back, and suddenly I was very aware of our position.
And I was very aware of the fact that my stomach felt like some sort of butterfly garden. I was grateful I wasn't the type to turn bright red.
"But seriously, I'm sorry about that. I kind of forget how strong I am sometimes," Leo let out an awkward laugh as he moved his hand out from under me. "And sorry about..." he looked down at me before looking to his arm, "this. I just wanted to make sure you didn't get hurt on the way down."
The hand that had been on my back was now lightly resting on my other side, like he was scared to put it completely down on the floor.
I pressed my hands down on the mat, pushing myself up a little. "No, you're fine! I come in here expecting to get thrown around." I paused. "That sounded wrong. You know what I mean."
Someone please kill me, a hot guy is literally on top of me and this is how I'm handling it?
The door suddenly opened, and we both whipped our heads around.
Mikey stood in the doorway like he had stopped mid-walk. His mouth was wide open, but he quickly recovered.
"They're fucking in the dojo!"
"Get out of here Mikey!" Leo shouted.
We scrambled to our feet, taking a few steps away from each other. Mikey just laughed and ran out of the room, continuing to shout about us 'fucking in the dojo'.
