June's POV
I sat up, stretching my arms over my head. I blinked groggily and wiped the sleep away from my eyes, my surroundings coming into focus. I immediately recognized the room I was in as memories from yesterday flooded my brain.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" Leo's voice suddenly spoke up from the doorway.
"A lot better. Thanks for letting me stay in your room."
"Of course. So um, do you happen to remember anything from yesterday?" He asked. So that hadn't been a dream. I really told him that his tattoos were hot.
"No I don't, why? Did I say anything weird?" Play dumb June, I can not sit here and admit to him that I remember.
A little bit of a relieved look crossed his face.
"No nothing, I was just curious. You seemed kind of out of it is all," he waved it off, an easy smile sliding on his face.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"About ten at night. We're gonna go out on patrol soon so I just wanted to check on you before we left."
I threw the blanket off me and swung my legs over the edge of the bed, hesitating before deciding to ask what had been on my mind for the past few weeks.
"Can I come with you guys?"
"I don't know June, what if you get spotted?" He didn't seem surprised by my question, I'm sure he could tell I was itching to go to the surface.
"I can cover my face with something." He looked like he was lost in thought, observing me and then looking back out into the hallway before facing me again.
"If you come up with us, you can't get involved with any of the fights ok?"
"Ok, I won't," I stood up, practically bouncing on the balls of my feet. He let out a sigh and then motioned towards the door with his head.
"If you're gonna come with us you're gonna need to get ready."
"Oh yeah, right. Thanks so much Leo," I called as I ran by him and out into the hallway.
I went to my 'room' and grabbed some clothes before going to the bathroom. I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and hair and then threw on my clothes in record time.
I stumbled out of the bathroom yanking my pants on and then buttoned them up and ran out to the main part of the lair.
"All right, I'm all done," I breathed, placing my hands on my hips.
"Impressive," Donnie said, looking at the time on his watch.
"Here, you can use this to cover your face," Esme held out a mask for me.
I slipped it on and followed them into the sewers. We reached a manhole cover and climbed up and as soon as I got to the surface I took a deep breath in.
"Finally, fresh air," I sighed happily.
Mikey walked by me and as he did, a loud fart echoed through the alley.
"Heh, pepperoni," he laughed.
"God damn it," I muttered, taking a few steps back and covering my noise.
"Eww, what died up here?" Esme climbed out of the sewers and immediately covered her nose.
"Ask Mikey," Leo motioned to the perpetrator.
