June's POV
I flicked on the lights and made my way to the sink counter. The bathroom reminded me of the bathrooms we had at my private school. It had multiple stalls that lined the right side of the room, half of them being shower stalls and the other half having toilets. There was a bathtub at the end of the room and on the left side was a row of sinks. It definitely made it a lot easier if multiple people needed to use the bathroom at once.
I placed my makeup bag on the counter, unzipped it and reached in to grab my hair cutting scissors, having noticed that my hair was growing longer then I wanted. The hair band slipped off easily and I slid it on my wrist as my hair fell to frame my face. That's when I heard a light knock at the door, making me turn to look in its direction.
"Hey, hope I'm not interrupting," Leo said. It hadn't been long since Esme and I got back from April's but when we returned, Leo had been the only one who wasn't in the main area to greet us. I gulped a part of me wondering if it had something to do with last night.
"Not at all, I was just about to cut my hair," I replied.
"Need any help?" he questioned.
"Sure, I mean if you don't mind. It's always a pain in the ass to get the back right when I cut it myself." He walked up behind me and grabbed the scissors from my hands. I watched in the mirror as he looked down at my hair and cleared his throat.
"So how much do you want me to cut?"
"Just above my shoulders. Please," I said, trying to ignore the swarm of butterflies that filled my stomach as his fingers brushed lightly against the back of my neck.
He took some of my hair in his fingers, the sound of snipping following shortly after. I tried to keep my gaze on the counter but would catch myself occasionally peeking at him in the reflection. I could tell from his expression that he was really concentrating on making sure all the lines were even.
Before I knew it a small smile had made its way onto my face and I realized that I had been staring for a pretty long time. I dropped my gaze once more, hoping that he hadn't seen me.
"Ok, how does that look?" he asked, taking a step back. I looked at myself and turned my head both ways to see his handiwork.
"Wow, you did a really good job, and if the back is as even as the front, I'm sure it looks great," I replied, genuinely impressed at the haircut he had given me.
"Heh, thanks, blades are kinda my thing," he smiled bashfully, handing the scissors back to me. I began to put away my things when he cleared his throat.
"Um, June I was wondering...would you want to...oh I don't know," he looked towards the ground nervously, shuffling lightly in his place. A part of me wanted to speak up, but when I opened my mouth no words came out, his nervous energy definitely rubbing off on me.
"Would you possibly like to go out on a date...with me?" he finally managed to get out. I closed my mouth and reopened it, hoping this time, I'd be able to find my voice. Thankfully, I did.
"I'd really like that."
"I understand, it was dumb for me to- wait, did you just say yes?"
"Um, yeah I did," I replied, trying to fight the stupid grin that wanted to make its way to my face.
"Oh. OH. That's great! So this Friday?"
"Friday sounds perfect," I replied, failing in my battle to not smile.
"Ok sweet. So Friday," he began to walk out of the room backwards, almost tripping over himself in the process.
