"Welcome to Vinyl Brew, what can I do..." Sand faltered in mid-sentence when he saw who had just walked in the door. "Hello Ray."

"Oh Sand. You work here?" Ray looked around. "Nice place."

"Yeah, since I finished university." Sand leaned on a box in which the records they were selling were displayed. "Are you looking for something in particular? Maybe I can help you." Ray thought for a moment.

"Micro, do you have Micro records?" His eyes lit up as he turned to Sand with a smile. Sand couldn't help but smile too.

"Of course we have some. Come on." Sand led the way and Ray followed him to one of the crates a little further back. "The whole box is full. You can listen to them over there. Would you like a drink, after all, we're a café first and foremost."

"Surprise me." Ray grinned broadly and then turned his attention to the records. Sand shook his head. It was incredibly strange to talk so normally to the other. Sand prepared a drink for Ray, even though he had absolutely no idea if he would like it, not coffee, but a shake.

"Here you go." Sand held the cup in front of Ray, who was listening to one of the records. Ray looked up and removed one of the headphones.

"Looks interesting." Ray eyed the green drink. "You're sure you don't want to poison me?" Sand laughed.

"If anyone here is going to poison someone, it's more likely to be you poisoning me."

"Why is that?" Ray looked genuinely surprised.

"I left you hanging when you needed me the most." Sand muttered. Ray's expression changed, he took off his headphones and looked at Sand.

"Forget it. That was over a year ago." Sand swallowed. He reached out and took Ray's hand.

"I've thought so many times about how to face you if we ever meet again. I've written down countless times what to say...I..." Ray broke away from Sand's grip.

"Sand, I'm serious. Just forget it. You have a girlfriend, it's been two years since we've really been together. I'm fine, you're fine." The words cut into Ray's tongue like a razor blade. "We can be friends." Sand eyed the other. We were never friends Ray, you know that as well as I do.

"Friends?" Sand held out his hand.

"Friends." Ray took Sand's hand and shook it lightly. Friends don't know the way you taste. And i can still taste you whenever I think of you Sand.

"I met Sand today." Ray joined Mew behind the front desk of the hostel.

"Where?" Mew was checking his PC for new bookings.

"Vinyl Brew. I didn't know he worked there." Ray took a deep breath. "We've decided to be friends." Mew looked up in surprise.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?"

"No." Mew rolled his eyes.

"Then why are you doing it?"

"I can't lose him, Mew. Being friends is good enough for me." Mew turned to Ray and took his hands.

"We've seen this situation before, haven't we? It wasn't good then and it's not good for you now." Ray looked down at the ground.

"It's different Mew. With you that was an obsession, it wasn't good. With Sand it's so different, Mew…I love him…so much. The last few years have been hell without him. I'm just glad he's still talking to me."

"You're so gone Ray. Please don't do this to yourself. I like Sand. I like him a lot, he's a good kid. But maybe you're just not good for each other." But he's the only one I want, Mew.
