The Devil's child

1844-Rouen, France

A woman is in labor. Her husband is by her side. She starts pushing and pushing. It was a difficult birth, but she got through it and gave birth to a son they named Colin. Colin was hideously deformed. "Gasp" the unexpected parents. "Look at our son" says the woman. "We can't love a boy looking like how he looks," said the man. They couldn't stand to look at their newborn son as one side of his face was badly deformed. They kept their son but mistreated him and name called him for not looking like a typical boy. 

At the age of 5, he runs away and falls in with a band of Gypsies. He became an attraction in freak shows and became known as "The Devil's child". Being kept in a cage and having an audience watch him as a man starts beating at him. When the crowd left except for one girl that witness this, little Colin took that rip that the man was hitting him with and strangled the man dead. The little girl stood there in shock, but she thought really quickly on hiding him before they come for him.  She snuck him to the opera house and hiding below it so no one can see him. She would sneak food and water for the boy. During this time, he learned about music and taught himself how to compose and write his own plays. He became a prodigy of the arts. A gift not that many people possessed but it was his way of surviving the things he has been through that no child should ever go through.
