Upsala
During one of their travels, Jasmine's scurf went flying from the air. It went into the sea. "My scurf" yelled the little girl. A little boy heard the scream. "It's alright, I'll go fetch the scarf out of the sea" says the boy. She says the boy run fast, in spite of the outcries of his governess. The little boy went into the sea even though he was nicely dressed and achieved the scarf and brought it back to her. When he got out of the water both he and the scarf were soaked. "Is this your scarf," said the boy. "My scarf? Thank you..." she started to say. "It's Raul" he finished. "Thank you, Raul. My name is Jasmine" she introduced herself. The governess made a fuss by Jasmine gave Raul a kiss.
There was a little market not far from Upsala where her father would play his violin and she would sing along. He had taught her the musical alphabet before she knew how to read. Jasmine's father was a great musician. He would play his fiddler, and no one can do it like how he can. His reputation was widespread. He would be invited to perform at weddings, festivals, and birthdays. Jasmine's mom died when she was entering her 6th year and it have been hard on them. After she died, the father went with only the care of music and his daughter went searching for fame and fortune. But what he really found was poverty.
One day, at Ljimby Fair, Professor Lesch heard them. He maintained how the father is the first violinist in the world and Jasmine's education was well provided for. She has a making of a great artist. She made rapid progress and charmed everybody with her prettiness, her grace of manner, and her genuine eagerness to please.
"When I am in heaven child, I will send you the angel of music to you" Jasmine remembered the last thing her father had sad. Now he's gone and she's at the opera house. Before her father passed away, Raul would come over and her father would in a low voice tell them the legends of the land of the North. The moment he would stop, the children would ask for more. Another story he told them was Little Lotte. Little Lotte thought of everything and nothing. Her hair was golden as the sun's rays and her soul as clear and blue as her eyes. She wheedled her mother, was kind to her doll, took great care of her frock and her little red shoes and her fiddle, but most of all loved, when she went to sleep, to hear the Angel of Music.
Jasmine loves hearing about the Angel of Music. The Angel of Music plays a part in all of Daddy Daae's tales. He told them that every great artist will be visited by the Angel of Music at least once in their lifetime. The Angel of Music would lean over their cradle, and that is how there are little prodigies that starts playing at 6, like Little Lotte. You have to admit this is wonderful. No one has ever seen the Angel, but he is heard by those that believe in him. He comes when you are the saddest and disheartened to hear his divine voice who they will remember all their lives.
Little Jasmine had asked her father if he was visited by the Angel. Daddy Daae just shocked his head and said sadly "You will hear him one day, my child! When I am in Heaven, I will send him to you." Daddy was beginning to cough at that time.

Watching Jasmine performed "Think of me" on stage, that little boy all grown up now had recognized her. "Can it be Jasmine?" he asked. He stood up and started clapping "Bravo" he cheered. "Long ago, it seems so long ago. How young and innocent we were. She may not remember me, but I remember her." He thought as we were going down the stairs remembering days with her and her father and remembering picnics, he had with her and chocolate. All those memories came back to him in a flash. Now they are both all grown up. 20 years old.
Jasmine Daae continues her triumph at the Opera.
After the Curtons closed, Jasmine went back to her dressing room with Madame Lesch. "You did very well my dear" she told her. "He is pleased with you" as she handed Jasmine the single red rose that he had left her. Madam Lesch left.
"Viscount, I think we made a discovery with Ms. Daae" said one of the managers. "Perhaps we can present her to you" said the other one. "Gentlemen if you don't mind, this is one visit I shell make unaccompanied" Raul told them. "But thank you" he added taking the bouget of flowers the managers were holding.
"it have appeared they have met before" said one of them. "Yes" said the other.
Raul went into Jasmine's dressing room. "Little Lotte let your mind wonder" he said entering her room. Jasmine was sitting in front of her mirror when she heard his voice, and she stood up and was happy to see him again after all these years. "Raol" she spoke with a smile on her face. They reminisce about the times they were together as children. "You sang like an angel tonight" he told her as he gave her a hug. Jasmine tells him that she has been visited by the angel of music. "And now we go to supper" he told her. "No Raul, the angel of music is very strict" she explained. "Then I shell not keep you up late" he laughs. "You must change. I order the carriage. 2 minutes Little Lotte" he told her as he leaves. Jasmine tried to stop him, but it was no used. She acted throughout as though she were no longer the mistress of her own destiny and as though she feared a fresh triumph.
After he left, someone locked the door and Madam Lesch watched with a smile on her face as she walked away and let whatever happens, happens.
